Recently the trannys been sounding wierd and i think it may be because the bastards that manage my building not fixing a huge gap in the garage exit and entrance ramp and the cars been smacking into it but im not sure.is it possible to damage the internals of the tranny by doing so?by the way when i hold the clutch down tho it goes away.Im going t analyze it alittle more but does any body have a idea of what could be wrong? Could it be the clutch ?

Throw out bearing, or pilot bearing. Cant remember which one makes noise with clutch depressed. Most likely the TO bearing.

I get that too, when engaged winding noise goes away, and when when clutch is not engaged theres a winding noise.

ummm that happened to me and shortly after my tranny gave out. Just a heads up. Flush the tranny oil and see if you have filings and the extent. A lil is normal....silver paste....your in trouble.

winding and clicking? If it gets worse, your input shaft bearing(s) are toast / lots of metal debris = tranny is done!

Good luck. Hoping for the best.

if u drain ur trans fluid and it looks like the tranny was having a party inside itself (metalic flake everywhere) then its bye bye tranny :2f2f:

A bad throw out bearing will make noise when you push the clutch pedal, and be quiet when you are not pushing the pedal.
