My sr'd hatch is not making a good daily right now, so i really need a car that I can drive reliably. Im in between a 1997 impreza brighton with 163k on the odo or a 1984 rx7 gls se with 103k on the clock. What do you guys think and why.

p.s. tried to poll, cant.

1. this should be in off topic
2. in regards to reliability, you're comparing a 97 imprezza with an 84 rx-7? :loco:

Personally love RX7's(looks wise)
But...I think the subaru might be easier to fiix if anything broke, and also have less chance of anything breaking since its newer
but love the way the rx7's look, but of course for DD, subaru would be more comfortable, and spacier.

Are you retarded?

You should not use a car for a daily that comes with a fire warning light from the factory.

Besides everyone knows. FC= fire car

Impreza.

Rotary + DD = not reliable.

yup i agree. ur comparing an 84 with a 97, ur better off with the newer one because in the long run the 97 is gonna cost less in maintence. if ur worried bout gas, get a ek, eg, any honda saves gas.

Ok honestly for 2k you could get another 240 (I just got a hatch wit s13 front and tein suspension for 2 and my gf got a coupe for 1900) or eg ef and if ur lucky ek all good gas and reliablity and fairly cheap maintence and an rx7 for dd no matter what model not a good idea so options you give I say subaru I had a friend who's lasted 300k on good maintence so

I DD an RX-7 for 2 years and I was under the hood for numerous minor reasons all the time. Granted I loved my FC but I was forced into learning how to work on cars because of it.

The Impreza is a good choice but if and when something breaks that is one of the biggest hassles to deal with next to a Z32 300ZX.

I wouldn't shy away from a Honda...

I've been DDing a turbo II with no problem what so ever.

But then I maintain everything meticulously.

I wouldn't DD either of them. But if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Impreza. RX7's are just to unreliable. Ask me how I know.

Maybe I'm partial, but my MK3 jetta gets as good of gas mileage as a civic and is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY cooler

as much as I like FC for a project car. I would not use it as DD. They are easily flooded and hard to start on cold season. I know this for I had a friend keeps bugging whenever he gets stuck. WRX would be an excellent DD for its newer.

impreza
.........

between the two i would say impreza
but to be honest and give my two cents, dont get a car that you want to mod as a daily. cause you will end up wasting money on it that you could have put in to your 240
get a little gas saver like an old corolla or civic.
