Ok, I have a question for the masses. I have right now the opportunity to get my hands on an 1999 Infinity G20 used motor. The woman who drove it didn't put oil in it, starved the top end of oil, and basically siezed it. My question is, does anyone think there may be some inter-changeable parts that could be salvaged? I mean anything at all. Even if I can't use anything I was thinking of picking it up just for the #### of it a taking it apart to toy around with it. For anyone who doesn't know what motor I'm talking about, its an I4, SR20DE motor. Basically, a sentra motor, and one turbo shy of becoming a Silvia. Either way it will be a learning experience, I just wanted to know what you guys thought. Oh and by the way, I'm getting it for $100. Lata.

well, for one, it's a FWD SR, so it's not exactly Silvia material. The engine is seized... I'm thinking, right away.... cylinder and piston damage... and almost definitely head damage (the head would be starved first I think). Besides that, what else on the engine would you want??

Actually Ace, it is RWD.....Its set up as an Inline 4. So there may be some possibilities. The service manager said it was from a G20, I always thought they were FWD like a Sentra. So I don't know. Although, I do understand that it may be a lost cause being that it was siezed. However, I am getting the whole block, so like I said I'm looking for any suggestions or ideas.
It is not RWD, if it was finding parts for RWD SR20's would be so easy. #### it's a 99, for $100's? I'd buy it, you could turn a profit of it. I'm not sure how much a motor from nissan would cost but even if it cost you 5 grand for a remanufactored you cuold probably sell it for more than $5100. But as for interchangeability of parts, I don't know, between FWD and RWD, I know the head gaskets are different.
