Its the temp. sensor for the oem gauges, its going bad. This is a common problem. The motor has two coolant temp sensors one for the gauge and one for the ecu.

does it drop down fast or does it go down slow? i've had similar problems after getting an aftermarket radiator. replaced thermostat, no problem after.

could be sensor if the needle plummets quickly.

yeah it's the stock gauge.. and i do have a koyo allum.. it does drop down fast when i floor the gas or when it builds up boost, so should i replace my thermostat with an aftermarket one or will a stock one be fine?

stock one is fine. check your overflow bottle as well and make sure there are no cracks.
