Hi guys and gals...I'm back! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Well, I'm trying to find a good turbo manifold for my little up-coming project. I prefer a runner style but will settle for a log style if the price is right. It also has to be made for an external wastegate. Of course, reliability and price are factors as well. I like RevHard's runner-style design, but I'm not for certain if it's for an external wastegate application. Any suggestions? uuninja, boosteds14, PSI240SX, WeST, etc.?

Go with revhard. I have it and it works fine with my HKS external wastegate.
When they make the manifold you have to tell them what wastegate you are gonna use and what make of a turbo.
If you want pics let me know.

well i have the log style and i cant complain.
it does the job and it reduces turbo lag because of the less volume in the manifold.
I was talking to chris may a couple of days ago and he told me that he had this new manifold that he is getting built that is better than the revahard. i guess the revhard is known for cracking.
look at his site. it will show it

hey boosteds14, do you have an FMAX manifold and can you get it w/o buying the kit?
I found JGS Precision Turbo (http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/) and they can make a custom log style. Anybody have any info on them?

OK--I plan to do almost exactly what jvh22a has done.
Start with a flange from http://www.turbo-performance.com/ ($25 )

I've ordered my 90 deg, sch 40 weld-els (4 for $20 from mcmaster)
I'll cut out a T3 flange and viola! My new toy (TIG welder

I just got a quote back from f-max for the manifold and they said $600. Is there an reason it's so much more expensive than the rev-hard manifold (~$480 from what I've seen)?

if you don't mind doing a little work, you can weld it up yourself.
i have some extra flanges. t3,t4,header flange,t3 outlet flange.
for the pipes just call mcmaster.com the "TEE" are about $13 or something...

I made my manifold out of 304 Stainless tubing 1.75" OD x .065" wall (16 gauge) that I ordered from Burns (http://burnsstainless.com) I also placed the turbo a little different, which made for longer runners, so I had to order more material. I had a friend of mine water jet cut the flanges from 3/8" and 1/2" SST. Then another friend spent about 10hrs cutting the tubing, including making a very nice 4:1 merge collector. Then I spent about 15hrs of actual welding. I didn't keep track of the time I spent on it other then welding. It ended up very nice and looks really cool. I'll try to have pictures up as soon as possible.
the parts ended up costing about $150 and the labor was quite expensive, even though I didn't have to pay for it.
I'm really happy with this idea though, I would always do a similar setup for any manifold I was involved with.
