Ok here's the problem...I have a manual....My car won't move unless the rpm is close to the red line and is reving like crazy and I could smell the clutch. This never happened b4. My friend told me it was the clutch but want second opinion. My only engine mod is Injen CAI and HKS super drager exhaust. Thanks for all your help....

yeaaaa if you can smell clutch, and it's driving like that, it may be your clutch.

heh. yah, sounds like your clutch is like 100% dead. I am surprised you didn't feel it slipping before, but if you are stinking it up then 90% chance it is your clutch... oh well. Get a better one and lay more rubber in the future. That's my plan.

But my car is fairly new...I only have 15k miles in it.

Well have you been launching like crazy? And it really doesn't matter, sometimes things just suck... get it checked out.

could have been a stuck throwout bearing or something causing the clutch to not engage fully.... in any case, if you've been revving it to just move like that, it's probably gone (the clutch, that is)... or near to it.

YOUR clutch is gone, (sorry tnord, pet peave). Either that or check the slave cylinder. Dammit I'm drunk right now. Hard to fucking type.

LoL... even if I was drunk, I wouldn't think it was the slave cylinder..... usually when the slave goes bad you lose clutch pressure and can't disengage the clutch... unless a line is pinched or clogged in which case pressure has built to disengage the clutch permenantly.....
in any case.... if you smell it, it's most likely gone.

i've seen a guy burn thru a clutch in 3 days. 15K is way too quick, but its not uncommon. stock clutch?

####, the clutch job I did on my truck a couple months ago came at 80,000 original miles. Just the pressure plate side was worn down to the rivets though. #### dumping the clutch for quick shifts. Not that I care. 50,000 out of a clutch will be long for me.
