alright i know I am probably gonna get flamed for this but.. how do i tell if my car has ABS.. on my 90 SE s13 Automatic... when i slam on the breaks the front wheels lock up, and i didn't see any weird wiring going to the brakes when i changed the pads.. however theres 2 lights in my dash that aren't labeled and i want to make sure i buy the right drive shaft for the 5-speed swap.. is there any easier way to tell... like by VIN # or something??

thanks

Are you f*****g serious?

Open up your hood. Slam it down on your hands.

Okay forget that part. Look on the left hand side (facing the windsheild) if there is some funky hardline system, you have ABS.

i thought abs 240s have three lines going into the brake fluid reservoir and non abs have only two.........

No. There's a big ass ABS manifold on the passenger's firewall in s13's.

You have it backwards. Non-abs cars have 3 lines going into the brake master cylinder, one for the rear wheels (which is split later) and one for each of the front wheels.

ABS cars, as posted above, have two lines going to the brake master cylinder, and a funky hydraulic hardline nest of madness over on the passenger side of the engine compartment by the firewall. It's removable :)

it should light up on the gauge cluster when you turn on the battery before you start the car. if its not a symbol like the oil or battery, it will light up like the e brake light.

That mess on the left next the the wipers motor is the ABS module. Most of the ones I've seen reside on S14s.

.

hahaha

sorry it was funny

but no if your engine bay chasis code tag (silver with black line, or just silver on the firewall) says produced in 1989 or 1990 it should have no ABS.

which imo only makes you a better driver.

shit even the 2006 TVR Sargaris has no ABS.

its fucking awesome 400bhp, L-6... anyways
