Ok so im have trouble sleeping, and i was thinking about ways to run an atmospheric bov without doing all of the conventional methods (like blow through, tune, afc, ect). stay with me guys please... no flaming yet... but anyways, i thought about using a ball operated valve that under vacuum closes up and under boost opens up. a problem i ran into is that vacuum opens the bov so yes, having no vacuum to the bov at idle is good... but after boosting and letting off, it might not blow off, thus defeating the purpose of the valve. what i have so far is this

that will never work... :P

i have no idea what u are trying to do there, but that wont do anything... either recirc it - or get a afc, or standalone... or u can just deal with it shooting fire.

I dont need it personally... the whole point in this is coming up with something new. It would be interesting to get something like this to work

you could run dual bov's. Have one on your cold pipe that acts like a regular bov and run one after your maf but before your turbo. Run both of them to a vacuum/boost source. During boosting conditions, the bov that is before your turbo will be closed from boost and the vacuum of the turbo but when your release the throttle, vacuum pulls the bov open and it sucks in some unmetered air to compensate for air lost from your regular bov.

But why go through all that trouble for just a cool "swooshing" sound. You could just make circuit that uses a map sensor and when the sensor senses vacuum greater than your idling vacuum, it plays a "chhh" sound that you record using your voice. I think this would be the coolest way because you can have a recirculated bov and cool custom sounds when you let off the throttle.

Heck, if your feeling frisky, you could probably even program it to play a spooling sound that increases in volume as boost pressure increases in volume.

I have no life.
