View Full Version : Aft. Mark. Crank Pully...no TDC markings?!

Well today i decided i wanted to go ahead in stall the 248/248 cam mod. When going to set the car at TDC I couldnt find the markings on the Crank Pully because i have an aftermarket lightened crank pully. Is there another way to check for TDC or am i just looking for the TDC markings at teh wrong place? Thanks

Stick a screwdriver in the #1 cylinder and turn it till it's up and the first cam lobes are facing outward.

ok so i got the cams in and everything is at TDC. Its said that you have to retard the timing by 3-4 clicks/dots/links/etc. now when they say retard the timing do they mean retard the timing on the crankshaft or retard the camshaft?
*Right now i have the cams in at TDC and it wont idle worth shit! lol. I advanced the timing on the distributer to get it to idle some but it wont do it for long unless i gas it. Does this mean my car is running lean becuz it wont idle?

You retard the timing on the intake cam by 4 teeth.
