You'd get more money parting it.

What kind of engine? Mods? pretty much if you bent the frame you are better off parting it. There is not too many people who wan to deal with a bent frame. Either way you are definetly going to lose on this one.

Edit: You definetly need to post pics.

it was just a ka24de with a shortram intake. all the glass is still good(it was a coupe) the dash and and stuf is good besides it being brown. yeah i know parting it out would be the best thing to do. but if i could get 800 for the car should i take it? i know ima loose money i have 7,800 + in this car in repairs + the money of the car. But trying to part it out around my area is hard people say they are going to come and buy something and they never do or people want the motor but are scared since it was a automatic that it wont work in a 5speed car WTF. Anyways if you live close to TN im looking for another 240 has to be a s13 i really want a hatch this time around and has to be a 5speed so show me what you got. ill post pics of it later but let me tell you the car is not pretty at all the frame got messed up bad.

Uhmmm if you have the space and time to part it out just do that... Use zilvia's market place and maybe your local craigslist... Post some pics and we can be a little more accurate with a price range that you'll get in return... Or list all the mods and everything thats still good in and around the car...

A lot of how much you're going to get for a car, depends on WHERE you are selling it. Where I live, 240's go for 2x-3x what they would in a place like socal for example.

Supply and demand.

A coupe with a brown interior and automatic is honestly worth about $200. Parting it you make about $800. People on the East Coast don't buy S13 parts much anymore or balk at the prices you offer, forcing you to lowball. Three years ago I could get $150 for a clean black dash, now I'm lucky to get $30 without someone crying rape.

r24 you always know what your talking about so if you was me and you got offered 500 for the motor and trans would you sale the car with all the interior to a junk yard for 300 or so or keep everything off of the car besides the motor and trans and just sale the car for scrape metal. cause like i said befor i am getting another one so i could use some parts. and parting it out in the east is very hard. i know like 3 people around my area that has a 240.

I agree.

It's a lot easier to part it out. Theres always someone that needs a door, or dash, hatch, etc. It's also easier to get $50 or so from 10 people then $500 from one. The main thing is not too many people would want to take on the challenge of trying to straighten the frame, not to mention it will never be the same. On top of that no one wants to buy a car that they are going to have to strip themselves then discard the frame due to the cost and hassle of getting rid of the frame.

Edit: In Febuary I completely parted out my hatch, I still have a few odds and ends that haven't sold. But the majority sold pretty fast to a lot of different people. Your best bet is to offer shipping on everything except: doors, hatch, hood etc. that way you don't lose any money. Some parts won't sell or at least not as fast due to not many people needing them, so there is probably going to be certain parts your going to have to sell dirt cheap or free. Example hatch, how many people you see looking for a stock hatch?

$500 for the drivetrain is a gift, take it. Pull anything else you may need or think is of value (power window regs, cluster, PS lines, engine harness, AC parts) then junk the rest. If you have room to store the body panels, do that too, but don't expect but maybe $20 when they come to get the car.

part it out lol, engines are engines even if it came from an automatic. the only thing different is the transmission and some parts missing.

i know about the motor being a motor it wasnt me that wasnt for sure it was the person that needed it. and i cant sale the shell the frame is bent to hell. were the rear tire is beside the backseats came apart from the car. the trans tunnel got bent down. the back deck were the speakers go got bent the middle of the car was folding. So all the car is good for now is parts and scrape metal. so does anyone need anything at this point?
