Ok here we go I have a Stock KA24DE Turbo on a Datsun 510. Just came back from dyno and was told my car was running to SUPER LEAN at 4500 RPM.Also noticed that he ran the car up to 11 psi boost but my boost guge says im running 9 lbs so I will have to get a new gauge since the one Im using is supre old.So here is my set-up just looking for some opinions from the TURBO GODS of what I can do to fix the problem.
SET - UP
95 Stock KA24DE

Stock MAF
JWT Engine Management

Injectors are kinda small. What is the trim on the turbo?
Take that breather off the valve cover and run it to the turbo intake tube. you are getting unmetered air in the system.
IMHO JWT ecu's are generic and need some sort of piggy back.

i do see the numbers of your Air/fuel mixure. your car is running lean. your air is 15.28 part air to 1 part fuel NOT good. turbo cars should be running at around 12 part air. and the injectors are small try 550cc or 650cc. Church's is good at tunning, i had my car tuned by him before but didn't learn anything there. i just got my car dynoed yesterday $85 for three runs and O2 sensored on the tgird run and my friend explained to me about running lean and running rich. I recommend you call him in garden grove JER and tell him Gerard reffered you from this forum. Dyno runs help so much. best investment you can make for your knowledge. so get some bigger injectors and go from there. call me if you have any questions i would love to help man. I LOVE cars and plus i can learn from your project car. 949-510-5476 my name is Gerard. plus the intake pipe has some radical bends not sure if thats good. hit me up

t3 is a flange footprint. what are the specs of the turbo? t28 maxes out 370cc injectors so more info from you is needed oh and while that intake pipe looks good it has more bends in it than needed

I just got off the phone with JWT and was told that if my motor was not 'PINGING" that most likely the car is not running super lean.I was told that if it is running super lean that the pinging or detonation would be there. Now he also said that when you dyno your car and they check your AFR from your tail pipe that it is not accurate and it needs to be checked with a wideband for more accurate AFR. So at this point I will have to invest on a wideband and see what it says. In regards to the cams I have never taken them apart or messed with them. Is the timing suppose to get out of whack by themselves??? http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif

Please redo your intake piping...
As said prior, check your injectors. Do you know what duty cycle you're running at right now?

why did you add an extra 3 miles of piping between your inlet and maf?

The reason it is like that is.....according to JWT, when you setup your MAF, you need approx. 18" between MAF and turbo (assuming the pipe is straight.) In order to shorten this distance, you can add a bend to the pipe as I believe everyone already knows. Now, if you notice in the 510 there is not much room and if you put a 90 bend in the tube then your MAF will be inside the shock tower so you must bring the pipe back around with second 90 bend in order to bolt on the MAF.

wells thats almost two 180* bends in the piping and i think that a single 90 would be plenty.
