Fuel pump wont Prime

I cannot get the fuel pump to prime when I turn the key in the ignition. but I can get it to turn on and stay on if I take out the EGI relay and jump the two closest terminals(with key in the on position). I already bought a new relay and checked every fuse and everything seems fine. It worked before but this happened after I accidently touched the two terminal farthest away form each other in the egi pump relay socket.

A little update for those that care. I grounded out the fuel pump wire(black/pink stripe) and it stayed on. I checked the wire harness and theres continuity up to the ecu plug, pulled the fuel pump out and the wires are still intact, brand new relay all fuses are good, opened up the ecu and there aren't any burn marks anywhere. I'm I checking the wrong places? I really don't want to bring it into the shop.
