Okay guys, posting this up for a freind.

Just installed S13 Blacktop SR, heres what we know.

Clutch lines have been bled.
Cluch Master Cylinder is operational
Clutch Slave Cylinder is operational.
When car is idleing in neutral, the shifter moves freely through all 5 gears and Reverse.
All wheels are off the ground, ebrake is up and rear wheels spin when pushed.

Problem:

CAR RUNNING: Put clutch in->Put shifter in any gear->Let Clutch out=Driveshaft does not spin.
CAR NOT RUNNING: Shifter moves freely and there is a slight resistance when putting car in any gear.

What is your guy's input on this situation? I'm suggesting removing transmission and doing a bellhousing inspection of all clutch related parts. I'm not so sure the clutch itself is bad because my expirence with bad clutches is that it will still grab a gear. I'm kind of leaning towards pressure plate, but even then: the slave cylinder returns to its static position by being pressed back by the pressure plate.

I appreciate your guy's inputs, my buddy is rather frustrated and doesnt want to undertake a tranny pull right away without some insight as to what it might be...

jack up the rear end and put it in gear while running, do they move? if not AT all, sounds like internals in the trans... but, either way, that tranny is comming off.

Doesn't move at all. I would think that anything THAT fried in the actual transmission would either A) Make a lot of noise or B) Not allow the car to start while in gear. I'm not too experienced in transmission work yet, that is why I'm sort of grasping straws. A destroyed transmission would make sense mainly because I can't think of how a pressure plate could partially break, and there is not much more in the bellhousing that can go wrong with the symptoms he's having.

Either the shifter is installed wrong, shifter fork broken.
A bad clutch disk, bad pressure plate will at least turn the driveshaft when the car is off the ground.

Lower tranny and remove front cover.
Shift into gears and note the position of the shifter bars. They should move.
Internal breakage would probably cause noise. My bet is a misaligned shifter.

If you depress the clutch and feel the TO bearing against the pressure plate, I am sure you can assume that there is no problem with the clutch fork. So move further back... if the pressure plate had failed there is a possibility that it is slipping, but even then you should be able to get a slight rotation if the drive train is not under load.

I would lean more towards an internal transmission problem. Drain fluids and see what you have... if nothing... I would get to work on a teardown. Sorry to say. :/

Well, thanks for all your guy's inputs, I feel kinda dumb for posting it up on here...

The good news is, my buddy got a nismo clutch, pressure plate and flywheel... the bad news is, the clutch is junk.

Found a full kit for 800$ but my buddy already bought an ACT kit with 1 day shipping.

Anyone know what the Nismo Flywheel weighs?
