The debut of Honda's all-new, 2008 Honda Accord is a few months away, but spy shooters Brenda Priddy & Co. have caught a lightly-disguised prototype of the 8th-generation model out in the wild. Honda is promising more refinement, efficiency and power for the latest model, which is entering its 32nd year on the market.

Styling of the 2008 model, due in showrooms late this year, features a wide stance, large wheels, and clean, flowing styling. From what is seen in the photos, it's not a ground-breaking design, but considering its role as the automaker's volume machine that is consistently one of the top-selling vehicles in the U.S., it's a look that should keep customers flowing into the showrooms.

The car is said to be larger overall than the current model and, unlike the Toyota Camry, the range will include the new Accord Coupe, which has also been recently spied prowling around after its concept debut at the 2007 Detroit show. The sedan takes elements of Coupe, but will clearly have its own feel.

Engine choices are still under wraps, but expect an updated version of the automaker's 3.5-liter V-6, which should make somewhere in the neighborhood of the 270 hp range, along with a 2.4-liter four with around 180 hp.

It is unclear as of yet is if the new Accord will come with a hybrid offering, but rumors of a diesel option, along with cylinder deactivation for the gas engine, have been circulating.

Sedan looks like a Hyundai Sonata and a Saturn had a child. Coupe rear looks like the old Chrysler 300Cs. Interior is nice as always though.

Im so confused.... I dont see a honda in either car, they did a really good job at doing the car differently. Im still not sure if I like it or not..... throw some gold vs-xx on the coupe, those rims always makes everything better.

the coupe's front has shades of the EVO X,and the sedan maybe looks like the Ridgeline? And the interior looks like BMW's 7 series.
(nice interior)

the sedan is ugly

Im not a honda guy but Id def choose the coupe over the sedan

I didn't like the concept and I'm even less crazy about the production car.

There we go! I got it. This is why I feel so werided out by these cars. Their style is 125% AMERICANIZED!! Look at them, theres no jdmness to it at all.

Eh, they got nice profiles but the devil is in the details. That rear end = eww.

This Honda's take on American style is ironically terrible. A decade ago it was the domestics being criticized the other way around. My how times change.

I am having a hard time believing those are spy photos unless they rendered the individuals driving them unconscious.

The first set of photo's are official from Honda. The second set, of the blue coupe, are spy photo's.

The rear looks like a sever overbite. At least the front is long and lower looking and doesn't have that pushed forward A-Pillar like the Civic.

Exactly my thoughts. I never liked the TL rear end either... looks too Lincoln-like.

As my post above, sedan rear looks like the old 300C:

The coupe looks like a more aggressively styled scion TC. I think that blue one looks pretty sweet myself except the rear doesn't really match. I mean the front is kind of rounded yet the trunk lid has a very sharply defined angle to it.

Thats a pretty powerful engine for that car... 3.5 i-vtec? not too shabby. Im guessing anywhere from 250-275 horses. Maybe 300(+? not likely though...) to compete with the lexus/nissan 300hp v6's. I bet it still sounds like a honda though.

The numbers are rough guesses from me, a non-honda guy. And the coupe looks like a big civic coupe IMO.
