Im just thinking...since my 91 KA has over 200,000kms on it now..
Should I...
A) Rebuild the engine
B) Swap to another KA DOHC
C) Swap to a SR20DET
D) By another #### car
There are minor setbacks to each one IMO..
A) Would have to mean rebuild the tranny?
B) Friends say might as well swap a SR
C) Parts would always have to be purchased online since I am from Canada..where would I find SR parts here in Canada??
D) WTG(What the gay)...do I have money??
The only way I can afford this crap is a loan...I can never save up this much money for anything...I still have another 5G's to pay off my car.
And I've heard of hot-tanking on the basis of rebuilding the engine....has anyone ever heard of this procedure?

i'd say go for the sr20 swap...it's just my opinion though...i prefer the sr over the ka, but both are good engines...i was going to do the swap but ran into some money trouble...so it's going to be a couple years from now...

The SR swap would be your best bet for horse power for money

pay off this car first......then get new car, you will start to have problems besides engine that will drain the bank account on a car that old

Yeah SR is what I would like to...like most people..
But then again..if something were to break down on the SR....alot of hassel and time ordering parts for it..in the other hand if anything happends with the KA....much more easier and simpiler.
Really wanna SR..since no one in my city has a TURBO or SR or basically modified 240s where Im from...some are minor mods or RICE..more rice on the 240s here...:(

never thought about higher compression, good idea though depending on cost and reliability

Read my cheap forced induction Topic. i think if u hooked maybe 2-3 leef blowers to your intake pipe and maybe upgraded fuel system. that would give u some hp gain

im with tnord, your car is so old, its not gonna be worth it in the end. i too drive a 91, and if i were in your position, man would i love to swap an sr into it. realisticaly tho, a new used car would probably be the best way to go.

No.....but its so hard to find coupes where I am from..theres only like 6 around...well about 4 91 coupes in my city..2 RICED out ones...
plus i perfer the look of the 91-94 look than the 95 and up..i was also looking into a Silvia front end conversion..but what the point of that if i cant get my car too keep moving ya know?
#### currency...he CDN dollar is too low

that really sucks but i would go with a re-builg with higher compression i think that would be a good choice for u altho it would be costly and there would be down time especially if the mechanics dunno what they're doing

the cheaper thing would probably be to swap to another KA tho.... so maybe do that instead.... sorry about my last post lol i would hate having alot of down-time.

if u wanna go turbo tho, its cheaper just to get a red top. if u buy another ka, thats the price of the ka (1000-1500) plus turbo kit.
