Hey everyone,

I recently replaced my thermostat and my main seal and as I was pouring coolant into the radiator I noticed that it was leaking from the Thermostat area.

I took off the hose and elbow to discover this...

I made the mistake of tightening the bolt too much so I know it is my fault. I just need to know if it is just part of the cover or not so I can replace it before the end of the week.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,

-Nick

Replace the lower timing cover, it's all one piece.

Can someone tell me how much they usually go for so I don't get ripped off?

Hey I'm in the same boat you are. I did the same exact thing about a week ago. Luckily I pulled the timing cover off my old motor. But if you need a temp fix(and I do mean temp). I just used a shit load of high temp gasket seal and it worked fine and didnt leak. Although I only drove for about 15mins to get it home, it never even leaked a little.

A new one is about $230. Used you can do maybe $40-50. While it's off you might as well get an oil pump rebuild kit too, it's about $20 from the dealer.
