my 1995 ka daily driver is on its last legs and i need another motor. would the ka from a 94 fit in my 95 without having to do any custom fab? if so, would it be recommended putting in an older motor? my orig motor had 215k mi and still runs strong up until the hg blew. now i got white smoke out the tail.

i searched but all i could find was how people were putting newer ka's into s13's. would it work the other way around?

here's the thread i found with the 94 ka for sale

any help is much appreciated. really desperate to get my daily driver back up and running so i can get to work.

Yes, it will fit
I don't know or particularly care, but I think you may run into legality issues in California

thanks for the info.

could you give example of a legality issue? i thought that as long as it was a usdm engine it would be ok.

In most areas, you cannot put an older engine in a newer vehicle.
Only newer engines in older vehicles.

it will fit. Just swap intake and exhaust manifolds and the distributor/maf.

That is what I was getting at, and my understanding is that it would have to be a newer engine with all applicable emissions equipment for the engine's vintage to be fully legal.

... you know, if you cared about that kinda stuff
