Ok, so I unplugged my speed sensor and tried to do a top speed run on the local abandoned highway. My friend with an old cop car paced me (super accurate speedometer). So I get passed the normal 122 mph governor (I have a J30 rear end that is a 3.92 ratio rather than the 4.08, so the speedo is off a little). At about 129 indicated I hit a SECOND FUXING GOVERNOR. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> We figure that it is either: A). a 5th gear rev limiter or B). a 5th gear calculated speed governor to take over if the regular one doesn't work (sons o' bitches). Has anyone ever heard of this or read of it or anything?? Thanks.

Quoting: 240booster. Posted Mar. 09. Topic: "cutting the yellow wire".
"search the forums for "yellow wire with green stripe" should bring up my post from a couple months ago. I gave pretty specific details on it. Ur check engine light is goin to come on cause the ECU can't read the speedometer nemore no biggy. Beware there r 2 yellow wire's with green stripes believe me i have already been the guinea pig. One has a single silver dot every inch or so and the one u need to cut has 2 silver dots ever inch or so. That should kill ur speed limiter at 118mph then just unplug the electrical 5th gear connection on the side of the tranny (its a rev limiter that limits u in 5th gear at about 5500rpm or 125mph). Then the sky's the limit ... i think my top speed is about 140mph. This is for an S14 i would think it would be about the same for an S13 but not making ne promises."

The speed sensor is clear on the back of the transmission, and the 5th gear sensor is the next sensor forward from that. There are three sensors right next to each other. The 5th gear one is the rear of them.
