Ok my tank was leaking because of some gravel issues. Well anyway I thought this was perfect time to replace the fuel pump since i had to remove it anyway. Well I pulled it out and it's ridiculously rusted on the top like usual. So I took the dremel and got the rust off the bottom of it it was very minute on the bottom(the fuel pump assembly not the pump itself and I'm talkin on the lip). But they were some sort of bronze plating on it or something. So should I coat this with something before reinstalling? On the top there is a ridiculous amount of rust on. I've got some off but there is still a ton left, so if I get it all off, a coating of rust treatment should prevent it from rusting again right? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

OK I'm putting in a walbro 255. The stock pump had this hose on it. Does this somehow attach to the walbro cause no one talks about it on any of the install sites? Or is it just not put on the walbro?
Pics:
Fuel Pump Assembly (what is this white coating, just paint, should I just grind the rust off and repaint it?):

Line I'm talking about:

Fuel Pump Assembly Top (ridiculous amount of surface rust, got some off, but what do I coat it with after I get all of it off or most of it anyway?):

theres only one hose that goes from the fuel pump to the sending unit. my walbro came with a new one. If urs didnt just use the old one. as for the white coating and rust???????? I dunno. Just clean it thouroghly so none of that rust and shit gets in the tank.

I didn't have any of that white coating, I wouldn't worry about that though maybe clean the rust off

the walboro pump usually come with install kits, and yeah like the other guys said you only need one tube that goes on top of the pump, it is actually really easy to install if you look at it a little bit

The kit should have all those

You just take the black rubber hose and hook it on the top of the pump (where the grey cap sits now) and you hook the other side of the hose to the assembly and throw your old hose away !! rest of the installation is pretty much straight forward.
Just put it the way your old pump was.

Maybe it's just corrosion from the fuel on the metal. I have the same install kit. Maybe they stopped using that small brown hose in the newer pumps. It connects to the top of the pump by the gray cap, on the stock pump anyway, but there is this little metal tube on top of the old pump that the little brown line connects to, then the brown line sits down to where the white filter is. Weird. I'll just install it without it and see what happens since apparently no one else has one LoL. I'll put new pics of it cleaned up for you guys. :)
