S13 ka in s14 car. Car runs/drives. Only CEL is from CAS(used s13 tranny). Motor ran fine when pulled from the previous car. Did not mess with the timing chain.

The car hesitates emmediatly after "getting on it" or down shifting and then W.O.T. It also feels more sluggish in general than my other s14.

Now to the timing. When the distributor is rotated ALL THE WAY towards the front of the motor(as far as the bolt will let it go), the timing mark is directly in the middle of the hash marks on the crank pulley.

HOWEVER, when i move the distributor so it is near the middle of the adjustment spectrum, the timing mark is at the end(right side, when standing in front of the motor) of the hash marks on the crank pulley(using timing light of course). When i rotate the distributor towards the rear of the car, the timing mark isn't even near the hash marks on the pulley(the mark is way to the right(3 inches) of the hash marks on the pulley...)

Suggestions please?

I just adjusted the distributor to the center of the adjustment spectrum. The car no longer hesitates, and now feels quite well.

I'm still concerned however, because the timing mark is at the very last(to the right, while standing in front of the car) of the white hash marks on the crank pulley. Doesn't that mean the timing is very advanced? Shouldn't the timing mark be somewhere near the middle of the hash marks while the distributor is in the middle?

hahaha. Thanks for the link, and for not flaming...lol. (although it would have been deserved)

Thats kinda wierd. So anything advanced would be guess work...Interesting. Why even have that many retard marks and no advance? Just curious...

thanks again.
