this happened to me as well my problem was the pivot ball on which the clutch for picots was broken, and u shouldn't really pull on the for because this can unclip the fork from the pivot ball if it is not broken

I had a similar problem as you describe and it turned out that that clutch disc did not fit properly on the transmission input shaft do to a manufacturer defect of the clutch disc, it went on but only about 1/4 - 1/2 inch before it meet resistance and would not go on any further therefore when the transmission was put on it further forced the clutch disc againt the flywheel more-or-less in an engaged position so even when I went to depress the clutch pedal to disengage nothing would happen and the car would be stock in gear until the car was turned off.....I think I put the transmission on about 5 -6 times that day....so what lessened I learned was to always test fit the clutch disc on the transmission inputshaft first...end of story hope this might help.

I should also not that it was a bitch removing the tranny everytime becasue I had to overcome the tranny input shaft being stuck onto the clutch disc and vise versa for putting it on.

dude, you should def get your flywheel resurfaced, looks like alot of moisture got inside the bellhousing. and according to the video, it was difficult for me to tell which way you were pushing the fork. but i'm pretty sure you were pushing it the opposite way the slave cylinder pushes it anyway. don't worry about play in that direction, you just need to worry if it moves in the direction the slave cylinder pushes it. plus, you wouldn't be able to do that by hand, unless you have hydraulic hands.
