Did know if this would belong in chat or offtopic, but i figured it wouldnt hurt here.

I know alot of people with 240sx and they are very different, and i started asking this question to see what kind of 240 person they are.

so i want to ask the question to my fellow zilvians and see where all of you stand.

imagine you get a brand new 240 from a nissan dealership, s13, s14, zenki kouki, fastback, coup, vert, doesnt matter, but its brand new.

than you have $ 6k to put in to ur new car, but you only have two choices.

choice number 1.
turbo the ka, or swap in an sr. its strictly money for power, so you cant use the $6k on suspension at all.

choice number 2.
as much suspension as possible. pretty close to full suspension.
but no turbo, and you cant buy one in the future.

mater of fact, for choice numbe r2 the most you can do is intake and exhaust, and with the first choice the most you can do is lowering springs.

well i would choose, number two because i think the difference in horsepower doesnt matter if your car can not handle, and i think the car would be more fun.
but my friends up here would rather go with the turbo.

they tend to be more into drag racing, well just want to see if this is how everyone else thinks too or what. sorry its so long.

first of all, i'd use my time machine for something far cooler than buying a new 240sx, like finding some farmer in the 1800's, and taking him to times square in like the year 3000 to see him freak out.

that said, all suspension. who gives a shit how much horsepower your four-banger can make if it can't handle? if you just want power, buy something built to make power, like a stang or f body.

id be freaked out in 3000 too lol

anyways are you going for speed or handling ?

most will go suspension first, then boost.

Choice number one.

Power is nice.

But so is suspension set up. But you can always somehow over come poor suspension set up, but you can't over come lack of power.

meh, i like n/a 4 bangers. never really cared to much about power. stock ka is good enough basically.

ill go with choice #2.

Choice 2. It wouldnt be fast, but it would handle better than a vette.

besides, my KA gets the job done. And reasistically, people like to say the 240 is underpowered, but most NA 4 bangers of the same size or even bigger these days dont have much more power. The Scion TC only has 160.

But if three was a choice 3, where 4500 was for suspension, and 1500 was for the engine, you can make a nice lil KA. tune, exhaust, header, pullies, even cams. I bet that would get a Ka24DE up to 180ish at the flywheel.

Dont get me wrong though, the KA still doesnt have much power.

you could get a lot more power out of a ka than that with 1500. enter the idealistic ka-t breakdown. i'll let somebody else do it.

hahha, all good answers.
no its not a question of a time machine, but that would trip me out to go into the future.
what if you went to the year 3000 and nothing was there?or worse, what if you werent white and went to the 14oo and you were killed or made into a slave? damn, time machines can be a bitch.

its just a question to see what you want from your 240.

I was so stuck on NA i didnt even think of turbo... Tells you SR guys how my mind works.
Overcomplicate a simple problem. The american way since 1776.
Oh well. I think you got the general idea of the 4500/1500 plan.

strut braces-400
power braces-300
control arms-300

definately go with option two... I have a mixture of the two now and I would trade my SR for a good running KA and money to put more suspension, braking, wheels etccc type stuff on.
