I just rebuilt my KAT motor. Before the Rebuild it wouldn't have oil pressure when I fired it up if it was still warm. When it was Cold there was no problem getting pressure. Well I put a new oil pump on when I rebuilt the motor. Cleaned all of the journals and the oil pick up. I disconnected the ignition and the fuel pump. Turned it over a bunch of times (each time I held it for about 10 seconds) but I never got any oil pressure. I didn't even get any oil to come out of the line going to the oil pressure gauge. Is there something I need to do to prime the oil pump or something? ALL suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks

Did you use rtv on the new pump to seal it? If so it may have gone into the sending area and blocked the passage. And I know it seems simple but did you install the oil pickup on your new pump? (had the ask, the simple crap always gets me)

Well problem is fixed I finally got pressure. Took a long time. Thanks though. I used RTV. It is what they say to use and there is no gasket for it. I didn't like that because I was afraid of the over fill getting into pickup as it was when I took it apart. Thanks for the input but problem is solved.
