Simple question, 13b turbo out of a 87 rx7 work on my sohc or too small? I know the flanges are different but i need to know if the A/R is too small. Any criticizem is welcome. By the way I got it for free, and it has 67k mi and zero shaftplay, it came of a running car they just wanted to upgrade.

even if the turbo has a .88 exhaust a/r, what does it matter. Its still a stock relatively small turbo. it'll pack a pretty powerfull punch for its size, it'll just take longer to spool. Id say for free, go for it. Whats the footprint?

I did some research and the single turbo on the turbo II have dual chamberd set-up so as the design says has low lag free boost and then at higher rpm opens the larger chamber for mid to high end boost kind of like a sequential setup but on a single turbo. make sense now for the exhaust port being divided....this might work, unless someone has some info that i don't like the cold side being too small...idk more searching to find the answer i guess.

Your so lucky to have an rx7 guy like me on here :)
The s4 turbo has a single internal "flapper" door wastegate, the s5 has a larger, dual flapper door style wastegate which helps boost creep alot. If you get an s4, you need to port the wastegate and have a washer welded on to stop spikes.

what if u just used the front intake of the turbo, then used the exhaust end of the sr turbo. if so ill get some one to build one for me sence i've got an s4 turbo staring me in the face when i go in the garage.

I cant say that i have ever attempted that. You can give a shot, i would personally just jump to the rx7 forums and sell it off, then buy a t28
