just finished the swap , redtop in a 91 240sx ... no check engine light ... idles at 500 rpm ... but when i took it out for a test drive it dies when i come to a stop. i'll start it up again and revv it to like 5k , let it go , and it wont die .. i put it in first gear, and drive like a few feet , let go of the gas and it'll die ... can anyone help ? the only mods are a BOV and a boost gauge that reads in Kg ... i think its boosting at 0.5 or less , does anyone know how many lbs that is ? you think its a vaccum leak , timing ?

raise your idle to 800-900.. and you probably have a open atmospheric bov which is what is causing your car to die. its letting air out and causing your car to run rich. and killing it. There are alot of threads on here about this

try swapping the coil from cyl #3 with a known good one. See if you get the same result or if the problem shifts to where you moved cyl#3 coil to.
If the problem moves with the coil then its the coil. If not....?

did you pull the plug and check it for damage? Also switch the plug wire with a good one. You might have a short in the wire.

check all your vacuums' and specially the iacv. thats usually the cause of it. and 500 rpm idle is bad. too low. fix your CAS most likely its not on correctly. and re time if needed.

if your getting no power to coil three, open up your ecu and check where the pin for 3 runs through the ecu for a break. if there is one, you can solder it to fix it, but i recomend getting someone who is really good at soldering. hope that helps

Do what he says.

i changed ECU's and its still the same problem ..... if the timing is off , could that be why theres no spark in cylinder 3 ? or no ?

i also did a compression check ... from the front of the car to the back it goes ... 150 , 145, 140 , 135 ... if that helps

ok ... checked the timing ... its right ... checked the wires going to the Ignitor Chip .. those are fine ... is there a way I could check to see if theres somthing wrong with my Ignitor Chip ? if its faulty could it be why only 1 cylinder isnt getting spark ?
