I put a 6 puck unsprung clutch disk with a stock replacement pressure plate and now the clutch won't engage properly...
I changed the clutch hydraulics thinking that was where the problem was but then another 240 guy heard my car and told me he had the same experience when using a stock PP with an upgraded disk... I've also got a welded diff if that makes a difference...
Can a pressure plate break or go bad?... How can I tell once it is out?
If I put back a stock disk will everything be OK?
Yes, you can warp/break a pressure plate.
I guess you could check the diaphragm for starters. If the diaphragm is borked then the disc and flywheel wouldn't engage properly (uneven/not enough pressure). Putting a stock disc wouldn't solve anything in that case.

Yes it can break, or even the disc itself. since its unsprung it is creating a lot of shock. There are other possibilities but it still requires that you open it all up.
best not to use a stock pressure plate again!

Yes, they can break and fingers will go clear through the bellhousing, good ventilation , I guess. If you arent sure Id just change it out.
