View Full Version : coolant temp sensor causing car to run rich?

SO i broke my coolant temp sensor and now my car is running rich. I was thinking that this could maybe be why?
Please let me know cause i gotta drive 2400 miles, starting in the mornign

nissan sentra se-r like 91-93 had an sr20de motor, the CTS is the same. since you broke it buy a new one. go to autozone, napa, advance, pepboys, etc and just replace it, won't cost more than $20 :)

just do a little more research before cuz 91-93 might not be 100%, but it will show up as DOHC 2.0 on their system prob.

yes...that is the case. if you broke your ECT sensor, your PCM will think you're engine is stuck at -40° and will keep your injector on-time longer.

For an S13 SR yeah thats correct

Part number is 22630-51E00 if you visit the nissan dealer.

Replaced the temp sensor, and that was the problem. Thanks for all of your help guys

ok.. i've got a dumb question.. where exactly is the coolant temp sensor? in the stock radiator?

I got mine from courtesy and I tried to put it in today on a ka24e. just to let you all know that you need a 19mm box wrench because a socket won't fit with the line there. I was like why nissan why LoL. Well I got a wrench and I'm going to replace it tomorrow. The line is metal, why couldn't they have used rubber LoL.
