Hey what's up yall. Well I got my 240 about a week ago and everything is fine up until now. I let a friend test drive it yesterday. When we got back to the house I was trying to move the car out of the driveway and it would not start. I tried pumping the gas and pushed the clutch as far back as possible. It finally turned on and was okay. But today I was going to go for a little spin around the block and it would not start again. However, after 5 or so minutes the car started up. About 15-20 minutes after this I was going to go put gas in the 240, but would not come on this time. I tried the battery by hooking up some jumper cables. But there was no problem with the battery. My other two reasons why the car is not starting up is either the alternator or the starter. I was wondering if yall had an ideal what the problem is? I don't want to go to the mechanic and I would like to do it myself. I was wondering how much the alternator or the starter are if that is the problem.

If the battery is fine and it wouldn't start it's the starter. Places like atuozone can check the starter for free and sell them for about $100. There are only 2 or 3 bolts holding the starter and it's pretty easy to take out.

Its probably your starter. You can get a new at the autozone for about 40 bucks. You can also have them test to make sure that its bad before you buy a new one. They're not that hard to take either so I would take it off get a ride there and have them check it out.

well I took out the starter and it was not the problem. Auto Zone checked it and everything and said that it was a good starter. A friend and I still think that it could be the starter. But right now I don't know what to do. My dad said that we will take it to the mechanic tomorrow, but I don't wanna. What do yall think might be the problem with the car not starting up?

well me and my brother fixed the problem. It was not the starter or the solenoid. It was a kill switch for the car that my uncle did not tell me about. I just flipped the switch and the car came on. But it was all good. I know where the starter and other parts of the car are. Well thanks for the help.
