okay so this is the deal, my bro gave me an extra intercooler that used to be on his 99 civic si (dont ask how he got an extra one), its a spearco unit, really nice, im sure it'll do the job. But im really worried about doin the custom piping. I've been lookin up stuff on summit and so on, and it looks like it could get costly especially if i dont know exactly what pieces i need to do the custom piping. so then i've had offers from other friends that want to buy it from me, so my question is should i just sell the intercooler and then just buy a intercooler kit from greddy/blitz. If so, how much should i sell the intercooler for? if not, someone help me with the custom piping!!!!!!

I'd keep it and have some custom piping made locally. It would be cheaper than getting a brand new intercooler kit.

custom piping is not very pricey at all. It is very affordable. I second doing the custom piping buying a new intercooler for the sr20det can cost you up to $800 probably 8 times the price of custom piping. now all you have to do is make sure the intercooler fits inside your bumber or if it can be mounted

Well i cant find any shops around here to do the piping, mandrel pipe benders are hard to find, so I'll probably end up buying aluminum u-bends and either having someone weld them or just cut and sleeve them. So my next question is what pieces do i buy?? u-bends, j-bends? how many of each? thanks so far for the input.

If you buy a "kit" made for your SR you won't need to do custom piping.
Don't post misinformation.

Hence the "for your SR" and not "for your car" <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
But your right he might have needed a hot pipe. But those you can buy instead of getting it custom made.
