I have suggested this, I think, before but I really think it should be implemented. Im getting tired of reading these damn kids ebonics on why their ride isnt working or whatever. We should just make a forum for people under 21 called "The Kiddie Corner" Where they have to stay in there and ask all the stupid shit they want like " I dont wana tripin on lsd - What it is?" I think it should be about 2 weeks in that forum with other forums open, but they can only post in there.

The rest of the community can watch or help the poor souls if they like

Why do they make it illegal to drink alcoholic beverages if you are under 21? Wait, that is age discrimination. It was just a suggestion. There is no need to get bent out of shape.

only a 17 year old would get bent out of shape like that.

Only bright idea on this thread.....IMHO, the idea is half-thought out, and somehow, the starter feels as if enforcing an age limit is somehow gonna make things better...if anything, we need a newbie section, for those who know little to nil aout auto mechanics, or 240's in general, or at least a place where they can post simple questions (ie :how to change oil) , without threat of being flamed...

then again, how bad is it, when those that have been on this FORUM for years, cant answer a simple question without being dicks and asshats, just because they have run out of patience with (said questions)...im sure that as this forum grows, there are ppl with alittle patience still, who can answer simple question without being asshats....oh yeah, lets consider the fact that this site has a HUGE faqs forum already....bah, whatever....btw, why do we have this smiley ------>:drama: its like the ghostbuster symbol, but with popcorn in its place...

I know there are people under 21 that are smart and know how to work with cars. But that group maybe 10 out of 2,000. Right? I dont mean to offend anyone, or maybe I did. The point is the way people are posting questions and cluttering the chat section. Really I dont even know whats suppose to be in chat, but limiting a new registrant to a week or two in a probation forum would keep the flaming in chat to a minimum.

I think if we make a forum for "n00bs" and whatnot it will keep flaming and locked threads out of the Chat. Look at the Tech section. There is HARDLY any flaming goin on in there even with some of the common questions. Hell that is where chemercher(sp?) goes to actually help people. IF there is a newbie section people would respond with the correct answer, lets hope.

BUT like with all the other forum suggestions it will just create another spot for people to post or confuse others. Too many sections and subforums will spread info out maybe a bit far, so not everyone would be able to see the information. We do have a really good search though.

you mean like 240forums's "beginner's forum" there is no flaming, and you have to be a member for iirc 10 days/10 post before you can see the real forums

yea i got pissed, would you expect me not to...

Yea, unfortunately this is true.
It's kinda funny to me, because MOST of my red is from normal replies and not flames, and ppl still love giving the red.
All of the other red I got was from a snappy remark, which no one would of given a second glimpse if I was a "well known poster"
Oh well. *shrugs*
I'll probably get more red for this, even though I'm not even stirring stuff up or saying stupid stuff.

I say what I want on here and for the most part I just get tired of the crap I see. If you do stay part of the community youll see things over and over and it gets annoying.

Seriously just say what you want. Do you really give a fuck?? its the internet do what you will.

what about for the first 7 days you're not allowed to post, and only have access to faq and archives?

I thought about that, but the flaw with that faq and archives are the same. What if the dude needs some major help ASAP? I think they should have access to all forums and search, but can only post in the n00b forum. This gives them the opportunity to get their questions out and not clutter the other sections.

If you check my message history, I haven't reposted any already posted topics. And I still get random red.

The funny thing is, as expected, I got more red from my previous post, even though I was being coherent and I was bringing up a point, not complaining.

Actually, I can't say what I want, because if I have an attitude like the Viceroy guys, I'll be banned. Go check on my post history and see how many posts I've wrote with me acting like a jerk.

I dont know if you were offended by what I said, but it was not an attack towards you.

As for your rep. Im not sure what to tell you. Not everyone shares the same views as me. I dont want to help this place out for everyone.
