i own a 97 240sx base automatic and i was just wondering if applying the brakes while reving the engine will damage anything? Does this method help improve acceleration at the start?

Doesn't seem likes its good for your car, its like driving with the parking brake on, I guess. Except you are messing up your front brakes which are more important.

i brake torque the blazer off the line to get better starts. i don't think it hurts it unless you rev it too high and hold it there. the RPM you can hold it at without damaging anything is probably different for every engine (i don't know about the KA, my 240SX is a manual), but i hold the blazer at 2500 RPM.

i don't think there would be any damage done to your front breaks if you torque/rev your engine in neutral then slamming it into the lowest gear possible (don't know what gears auto 240's have) although it would probably damaging your drive train in some way.

i've done the brake torqueing except i always called brake standing, or power braking but it must do some where on the pads....in the rear .  i dont think it will do much to the front pads cuz the wheels arent spinning or anythin....this is just some babble i came up with at 2 in the  morning so if i am way off just let me know

also i would definitley not rev your engine in nuetral and drop it into gear.....a nuetral drop... i seen a guy do it and totally fuck his car up except he wasnt reving to like 2000 he revved his shit into the high 7000's or so...
