Are there any wheel lock out there that caters to people with extended studs? Also, what's a decent open ended lug nuts out there for this application. This on a daily so, I dont need anything crazy like Logan's titanium lug nuts thats more expensive than my rims...

I have the kukegen or whatever it is called with nismo 60mm extended studs. Fits fine with no problems. Would have gotten Project kics but they are on backorder. Get the R40 Neochro as they come with locks.

wheel locks are pretty much bogus, you can take them off in 2 seconds with a lug nut remover kit avail at sears.

gorilla makes one with a spinning outer sleeve so its harder to remove, but your kinda jacked if they get jammed with road debris or you lose the key.

Kyokugen lugnuts are not worth their price... Every kyokugen lugnut adapter I have had has cracked.... Then you have to go buy another one for 400 yen.... Just so it can crack again.

You don't need wheel locks in Okinawa.... My car has sat in the same place for 4 months now and the 33 GTR wheels and Brembo's are still on it.

Koopa...I live on base, in KAB, surrounded by fucking dependents. Im so close to the fucking High School I can spit at it. Do you really think I wanna trust these kids around my car? Ive seen and heard enough stories to make me wanna cover my ass. Id rather be safe than sorry...

Besides, your car is parked far enough away from anything that YOU cant even go there...:mepoke:

Funny thing is I've never heard of parts being stolen on Kadena except for the Lemon Lot.... Everything gets stolen in Sunabe..

Any ways.. IF they're gonna steal your shit they're gonna steal your shit. If they want it bad enough a locking lugnut aint gonna stop them... Hmm what lugs are those? Oh, lets go buy the key at Sanjyou's

Umm...DUrH...why you think im asking in here?!?! Beside, Im trying not to stick something thats easily accessible on the island. If you gotta get the key for it, itll be harder to get than just going to Sanjyou. Yes your right, if they want it, they will take it. But the idea is not to just fucking give it up. Make them fucking work hard to gank it, im not serving it up on a fucking silver platter...the longer it takes them to get something from me, the higher the chance that they can get caught or change their mind about it.

And yes ive heard enough stories of people's shiet getting fucked with other than the lemon lot. You gotta remember, just cuz theres alot of people on the yon, doesnt mean that every car enthusiast on the island is in there. Ive met enough people on KAB that knows whats been going on here that wants absolutely nothing to do with the yon cuz they think everybody in there got the whole Car-God mentality. Theyd rather have sex with a herpes ridden thai hooker than sign up at the yon.

Ray I have then Nismo studs and the muteki lugs. they come with a special deep key with a 19mm hex on the end to reach into the hole and grab the splines.
You can see in this image from Phase2 that they come with the key.

I keep it in my glove box just in case.

Koo, thanks for the 411. Just wanna look around and see how easily accessible those lugs are on the island. Im honestly considering some kics just cuz I doubt a whole lot of people got them, so less likelier chance of people having the keys for them. Anybody actually running the neo chrome ones? Im just wondering how good those platings are in withstanding corrosion.

Boo, people on Okinawa can't take a little shit talking. My car hasn't moved 10 feet in the last 4 months.. I still make fun of people with 350 whp set ups. Who cares, it's all fun and games. Some people need to go to CIF and get some thicker skin issued to them. Guess the standard issue skin of the armed forces these days comes a little thin...

BTW, KAB can suck my left nut.

Werd, my guess would be the more expensive the lug is, the less likely someone will have the key for it. mutekis are a dime a dozen, even over here. If you go to Japantown in the city they have em like stickers.

why are you guys still talking about this

the fact if it is easy to get a key for it or not is totally moot

http://www.etoolcart.com/ProductImages/steering/LT-4300-L.jpg

i can take any of your lugnuts off with that

sears home depot anywhere. anyone who steals wheels has these.

or hell hammering on a 19mm socket works the same

or filling a socket with jb weld and sticking it on the lock nut and comming back later

any idiot in the world can steal your wheels regardless of lock nuts so just get something easy to use.

http://www.gorilla-auto.com/imagesSearches3/87.jpg

that is really the only design that makes it a pain in the ass to steal wheels because the outer sleeve spins independant of the nut, but if it ever gets jammed up or the key breaks off inside of it its a real bitch.

^if that outer sleeve get jammed/locked up then you couldn't you just use one of those other tools to take them off.

if it frees back up just jam the orignal key for them back in and take it off...shouldn't be too big of an issue unless i'm missing something.

I think we shoudl all buy two seperate types of locks. That way it takes long for theives to steal rims. They gotta go to the store twice to get different keys.

I have a special lug nut , one lock set, one 17mm lug nut, one 19 lug nut and one 21 mm lug nut ... take a while to take off one wheel. Just making it harder for someone to get the wheels of my car.

thats true but the sleeve design makes the lugnut kinda big so you prob couldnt get the socket around it, like you couldnt really use those with "tuner style" wheels. theyre fine for works, and thats the only brand i care about really.

the jamming up thing isnt a huge concern its just worth mentioning.
