4 type r stickers should be enough!

the only cheap mod i can think of is removing the airfilter box, but you already have intake. 91 cams are supposed to be the best but don from pdm has his own, his web site is linked on the home page. removing excess weight is cheap, not hp giving but will make you faster. advance timing (not sure how much but there are many topics on this here you can search for.) that's all i can think of for cheap. pulleys are like 120$. there are some exhaust that aren't to loud. i think my intake is louder than my exhaust (but it's also closer). they do make silencers if you are worried about noise.

I am not sure of the set up on your car but some cars run radiator fluid through the intake manifold to warm the incoming air. This is totally unneccesary and if you bypass the fluid around the manifold some real hp can become availible. You can gain 1% hp for every ten degrees cooler you run your intake air. considering the air outside is 85 on a warm day and your engine runs at about 135 or more there is at least 3% more hp. and about 5.1 hp. It may not be possible but if it is it may be a start.

i think the reason the throttle body has coolant lines in it is to prevent moisture from freezing the throttle plate stuck in any position... I guess if you don't deal with cold weather it isn't necessary.... but in my opinion, air spends so little time in the throttle body that the slight temperature difference is negligable.

Change the fan to an electrical.
Take the cat off (get a drill and break out the filter thing inside the cat)

intake, apex n1 dual (louder though), header, computer, plugs and wires should get you 20 I'd say.

Ive heard of people taking the power steering out, or unhooking the belt actually.

getting lsd wont increase your hp, but you'll probably be .5-1.0 faster in the 1/4

thanx guys, but is a header that much of a gain w/o an exhaust? i want to stick w/ the stock exhaust! also, removing the cat won't be that benifitial if i'm on my stock muffler right? can i get some tips on removing the fan? how much would the cam cost me, and can i do it myself?

i'm currently tring to work on intaking air from the passanger side instead of the driver side, because notice the air passes just above the radiator, which means hotter air... i'm still workin on it... probibly be done by... May? ha ha, not enougn time on my hands...

hehe...my first post since dec 19th....####...i've been gone a while...anyways...in regards to the gain from the headers, there will be some...but it's kinda a waste of money if you don't get a better exhaust...

as for the intake, adding a CAE should defeat your concern for the hot air...well, good luck!

...glad to be back...

i have brought that up before i was thing of taking a civic intake and moving the battery to the other side of the car
that will shorten the intake and keep it far from the radiator that will run a lot colder

well, i already have the battery in my trunk, but there's a metal bracket that hold the batter in place, no use for it now, don't know how to get rid of it. but my plan is to widen the hole for the washer flud, and use that hole as an intake, then move the washer tank to the driver side. quite time consuming... after that, i plann to custom build a air box from plexi-glass that inscribes the intake (it is useful 'cause it blocks out heat from the engine), then have an extension going down right below the passanger side bumper signal to draw colder air. also remove the coolant resevor to the driver side, just tryin too hard to keep the intake cold...

and maybe i'll go to the extreme wrap the AC gismo around the intake tubing for "ice cold babe" air... but i would have no idea on how to do that and i'd probibly kill myself from the cfc's (do they still use cfc?). my future plan... long shot...

Opening up the exhaust is a big part of freeing up some power. The stock system is pretty constrictive. I'm sure you could find a good mandrel bent 2.5" aftermarket exhaust that isn't much louder than stock. Look/Ask around. If you want quiet, don't gut the cat.
Check into some street cams...try PDM-racing.
A header would help alot but may make it louder as well.
Route some colder air to the filter...Injen CAE or Home Depot project.
Port matching might be a good idea too.

Or you could junk all that and just put a CA18DET/SR20DET in there...really the only way to truely live up to the badge IMHO.

Just remember...horsepower isn't free; nor does it not have any tradeoffs. Increasing airflow, be it before or after combustion, will increase noise...and increasing airflow is really the only way to make horsepower.

cold air intake , header , cat back exhaust , high flow cat,and some pulleys should do the trick...

You have to spend some money for those 20 horses. Either that, or take of the 180-badge.

Get a JWT ECU (One is about to end on Ebay for a good price)

Get Headers, Hotshot are good.

That should be about 15 more HP, then I would get a High Flow cat to free it all up. Thats good for 5HP. Stock exhaust is fine IMHO, but if you REAAAALY wanted to get one then I would get the HKS Sport cuz its quiet and adds some HP too.
