I have tried about every spark plug in the world and the one that I think works best are Denso iridium plugs. Before I got my turbo, I used NGK super platnium and they seemed to work pretty good but I like the Denso plug better with or without the turbo. Just replacing the plugs is not going to really add any power. To get a descent power gain, you do a whole ignition upgrade.

When I had Eleanor I ran Bosch plug wires, and Bosch Platinum +4's. They are well worth the money, and better than the previous NGK I had been using. Prior to installation, the old plugs didn't do 4000-4500 very well. There was a noticeable improvement in that range after I switched.
For reference, I change all plugs, regardless of platinum status or not, at 20,000-30,000 miles.
