I met a guy named Alex at a bay area auto-x and he told me to check out this board, but I forgot what he posts under.

I have a stripped '91 coupe with tein HAs, 17" SSR 1-piece varden sports, and magical decomposing factory paint. If anybody autocrosses in sacramento or the bay area, its the ugly grey one with the unpainted bomex front end.

So....yeah. Go about your business.

Welcome to the boards What part of the bay area are you from? I might be moving to Sacramento next summer, and would like to know more about the auto-x scene down there.

I'm from Vacaville, which is almost exactly the same distance from sac and frisco along 80. The auto-x scene in the bay area is crazy, lots of high dollar cars, and many are nationally competitive. One guy has a new Porsche GT2 on slicks that hits the rev-limiter in 2nd on most courses, which equals about 90 mph on a couse where most cars (like mine) struggle to hit 60! Sacramento is a lot more laid back, mostly older vette guys and miatas, but you can get a lot more runs and don't need an SCCA membership, so I like it a little better.

No pics of my car, but here's a crappy pic of the wheels. I bought them off e-bay from wheel choice, and they could be the only set in the county for all I know. Most people think they're a BBS wheel and don't give them a second thought. They're a staggered setup, 7" in front, 8" in the rear, 38mm offset all around. The 7" is supposedly 17 pounds, the 8" probably a little heavier. They're 4X114.3 and 5X114.3 so I can do a 5-lug conversion later without switching wheels. The pic doesn't do them justice, though. The center sections look like fine jewelry up close (I usually leave them off), and VARDEN SPORT SCHWARTZ is lazer-etched in the outer rim. They even have the fighting griffen logo on the valve stem caps! Too bad I scratched the right rear on dirty cone a couple months ago, sometimes I wish I would have got some cheap-ass Koseis.

Dont know the name off hand. Hmm no SCCA membership, guess I just saved myself 25 bucks.

welcome to the boards man,

glad to see another 240 enthusiast that supports what he drives.
