Beginning to like the 95-96 front end

I saw this guy's pictures, he had a 95 S14 with a full Cwest kit and man, it looked so gorgeous.  So clean, just a bit aggressive.  I have a 96, and the more I look at the front headlight cluster, the more I'm liking it.  It mathes the rear so well, and it has a little bit of an old school flair to it like the S13.  Any opinions, or similar realizations?

I'm not trying to connote that the 95-96 clearly looks better because that's obviously open to opinion.  It's not like THAT.  I just liked the m/c front end so much more and had full intentions of doing a conversion for such a long time.  I'm just wondering more specifically if anyone has developed an opinion like this and for what reasons.  And, what people think of the Cwest kit on this model...

I always have and always will love the 95-96. The 97-98 seem to aggressuve to me, 95-96 have this sexy look to them, especially when stock. The 97-98 look better with body kits or a nice lip. But I love a stock 95-96 look, even though there are some nice kits for the s14b. Although the taillights on the S14a look better, but thats simple to change.

I prefer the '95-'96.  The '96 without the extra grille bar especially.  It flows much better from end to end, in my eye.

I prefer the early taillights too.  The horizontal slats in the later style turn me off a little.

i have a 95..and damn they look sick..the 97s look kool too..i like those too..and 99+..love them too..i love them all equally..i plan to take out my grill as well..mayb tomororw

here's another one. I have an S13 and used to love the S14a (m/c) look; hated the S14b look. For some reason though, I slowly began to like the '95-6 headlights and grille; it isn't so "overly aggressive" as the S14m/c whose lines just don't match the rest of the car IMHO. It's too sharp-edged and no offence, but these days brings up images of Veilside/Erebuni super aggressive body kits.
The S14b is just so much mellower. Put on the European headlights (glass housing) and voila; perfect.

I wanted a Kouki until I went shopping and realized how much more the Zenki front fit the rest of the car's lines. &nbsp;Aftermarket grills DO make it, too. &nbsp;If I were to do an aesthetic mod, that would be it!

I always loved the 95-96 S14 way more than the kouki S14. I just dont think the front end matches the rest of the car for the 97-98's. Dont get me wrong, they're still beautiful and I would love to own one though. Somewhere along those lines of me shopping for a 95, I just fell in love with fastbacks &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':love:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':love:'> and now I own one. Though I plan on buying either a 95 240, or a 74 260Z... (drools)

I used to be one of those people, and in a way still am. At some angles the 89-90 looks a whole lot better than the 91-94. I pretty much like all 240s but i like some more becuase those will be the only ones I can afford. S14b looks the best to me stock though.

It's funny you brought this subject up because I just finished my '96 to '97 conversion and I tried to get used to the zenki ('95-'96) headlights and tail panel but I favored the more agressive look since I have full kouki aero kit. I guess the one way you can really enhance the look on the zenki front end besides aftermarket bumper+aero is to go w/ the skyline BNCR32 look. I think East Bear out of japan makes a pair of amber lenses that go over the stock s14 zenki corner lamps, I could be wrong on the brand but damn!!! if you want to stand out try to find them especially if you can find a skyline type aftermarket F.bumper !!!BAM!!!

you know i thought the same when i bought my 96, but after seeing the 97 on there now, i like it 200 percent more, looks meaner and more unique, not like a mx6 or something with ol ghetto headlamps, its opinion really

When I first got my S14b, I didn't really like the front end. &nbsp;I wanted to change it to S14a. &nbsp;I bought the S14b cause it was waaaaay more affordable for me. &nbsp;Slowly but surely, I have come attatched to the 95-96 front-end. &nbsp;It's a gradual thing that happened. &nbsp;The more I drive the 95' the more I like the appearance. &nbsp;

I still like the S14a front-end though. &nbsp;The conversion to S14a cost so much though! &nbsp;I'm probably convert way later down the road when I have enough money for the conversion itself AND a new paint job at the same time.
