I just bought a map light for my 93 240sx SE. Unfortunately, my car didn't come with the map light (stock). That's why I got one. But, I have no idea where and how to install it since I didn't have one to begin with. I really need help with this. If anyone could provide some assitance I would appreciate it. Thanks...John

Is this an aftermarket (not OEM) map light? It didnt come with instructions. Well I am assuming that it wouldnt be that hard. You could splice into the stock wiring harness and splice into a power wire for the power source. Or you can wire it to the battery and it would be something like a toggle switch appplication.
BTW: You shoulve put this in TECH, probably get more replies that way.

This map light is OEM. I got it from a salvage yard from a fastback like mine. I'm really unfamiliar with wiring, can you go a little in depth with the a wiring procedure I can take?

Any regular type (exclude VW's) electrical circuit works as a negative ground, and essentially you're making a big loop. At one end, you will have power + (12 volts), at the other, - ( negative ground) On a simple map light, it should have two wires. If it has three, it may also have a door light function. For the light to turn on, the positive has to flow through the positive side of the lightbulb, to the negative side, and from that to the negative ground, thus completing the circuit and making the light actually come on.
Anyway, figure out which one you want to go to positive. (Some 12 volt lead in the car) Connect it. Find a non-anodized bolt to secure the other lead to. Non-anodized means a ferrous (is that spelled right?) metal bolt. Shiny, not flat blackish or shiny rainbow-y goldish.
If you have three, ignore one and cap it off unless you plan on using a door switch.
If you can't get it, go find a buddy who knows electrical and have him show you how. Oh yeah, if you want to play with electrical items, get a voltmeter (Radioshack will do).
