Well, I haven't posted in a while cuz i've been in houston for more than a week, and the last couple of days were hell since i was arrested and thrown in jail. this is the story:

me and a friend of mine, were drivin around with my friend that lives in houston. it was around 11 pm and we drove by the a starbucks and got some coffe. after that we drove around Westhimer Av. since thats were the "racers" hang out. we saw a bunch of ppl at a sonic/k-mart parkin lot and we decided to check it out. we drove in and saw that there wasnt any cool cars and we decided to leave. right when we were pullin out of the parking lot, a bunch of cops drove up and raided the place. they told everyone there to go to the back of the store. they hand-cuffed us all with plastic ties and we sat there in the parkin lot from 11:30pm to like around 50am waitin to be takin in for "trespassing" they arrested a total of 300 ppl. many ppls hands were tied so thight that they were turning purple (my friends did) and they would ask the cops to loosen them and the cops would say "theyr not ment to be comfortable" and thats if they even paid attention to u.
we were taken in in buses and vans. i was thrown in a van that smelled like piss really bad and was extremely hot. the inside of the van was made of a steel mesh and there was nothin to hang on too since we were hand-cuffed. the lady drivin the van, would slam on the gas and we would all fly to the back, slam on the brakes, we would slam onto the front... u get the picture. we waited in jail for 12 hours more, waitin to be released since me and my friends got bailed out, it took really long since there was so many ppl to be processed. that jail was a complete hell hole, they threw us in bathrooms full of shit and piss since there was no room, it was sick. we then found out that alot of ppl were let loose...mostly white men and females, go figure.

there was one guy that was drivin around with his 2 white friends and they let them go and arrested him. all the cops were extremely rude and racist, one of the cops(white) was walkin by were i was and stoped and said "man, did they raid Little Mexico?" laughed and walked away.

whatever happend to the whole "ur inocent until proven guilty" those were the worst 17 hours of my life. many ppl are going to start a civil law suit because like 75 percent of them were inocent. the cops inside the jail were tellin ppl "u should plead guilty so they can let u go since u allready served ur time... if u plead not guilty, they will throw u back in here till u go to trial" many ppl did plead guilty even though they werent just so they could get out. all the ppl that were bailed out are the ones that are goin to sue the city since we didnt plead guilty. i didnt know things like this happend in real life.

edit: another thing, my friend, the one drivin got a ticket for "attempted trespassin" i think if cops started givin tickets for "attempted" stuff, we'd all be in jail... also, if i hadnt be bailed out i would still be there... and today is my birthday.

I LOVE COPS SO FUCKIN MUCH!!

I hope that you are one of the ones that is filing the law suit. I've met so many nice cops in my life, but then stories like this come along and it makes me lose a little bit of respect for them...something needs to be done.

It's pretty ridiculous, but at the same time, you don't know what events might have led up to this. They may have been warned many times before not to meet there and you just happened to be there on the wrong day. Of course, that doesn't excuse the discrimination.

Happy B-day, how old are ya now?

Wow, talk about the wrong way to handle a harmless situation. Was anyone even being a dumbass and doing burnouts or donuts in the parking lot? If not then they should have peacefully broken up a peaceful gathering rather than profiling a bunch of people for having "trick" rides.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Happy Birthday.

im 19. yeah me and my friends are some of those filin the law suit... one of my friend's dad has a really good (expensive) lawyer and we are goin tomorrow and see what all we can sue for, the more the better... i would love to have those fuckers pay for all this crap. im sure we can get them for a bunch of stuff like, descrimination, physical/phsycological anguish. they really abused us all, and im sure 300+ witnesses is more than enough.

there was noboy doin any wreckless stuff, and alot of us got arrested just because of just drivin by that street. the cops said that "Operation Eraser" (thats what they called it) had been planed for a while already... and if so... y didnt they play for better accomodations for all of us, at least something better than stinky ass bathrooms, were ppl were doing theyr necesities in front of us in a room of 5X8 with 14 guys in there at once

I really feel bad for you. They should have respected you. I hope the lawsuit goes in your favor!

I think cops all around the world have something against these kinds of gatherings. Since the beginning of summer, I think cops in Montreal raided 3 or 4 social car gatherings.

They won't let people meet because of the reputation people have given to car enthusiasts.

yeah, they also told us that if they even arrested us again for this kind of thing, they would take us to county instead of the city jail... im guessin thats worse?... is that even possible?

Note: The following text is a transcription of the first 10 amendments to the Constitution in their original form. These amendments were ratified December 15, 1791, and form what is known as the "Bill of Rights."
------------------------------------------------------------

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

a thing i wanted to ask... arent the cops supposed to read u ur miranda rights? cuz they didnt... i've read of cases were the criminal did actually do something wrong, but since he wastn read his rights, the charges were dropped and the case dismissed

The only problem they have with that arguement is they weren't being peaceful on their property or at least with the owner's consent. Technically they were trespassing, but if no one complained and the cops just decided to bust in and arrest people for being there they do have a waek case on those grounds. However I still don't think it was the appropriate action (when asking them to leave would have worked) and that the conditions and treatment did not fit the "crime." Come on, I'd expect more respect if I had just walked out of the store with a few TV's or something. A bunch of kids "hanging out" is not exactly a raid worthy cause. Those are some great tax dollars at work. I'm sure it was all overtime too, if it was like any task force they assemble in Madison.

Welcome to Houston. It's the biggest thing in the news right now. I hope it REALLY comes down hard on them. I can't even form words to express my opinions about this crap. The Brittmore raid made sense, but this is just blind harassment.

my friend got a bad ass lawyer for us today... i hope we get something out of this, its some bullshit. if i do get some money, im defenetly goin to pimp a new 240...

kinda ironic that if we do win the case, they are goin to be payin for me to have a cool car, eventhough they were supposed to stop street racin and "cool" cars from hangin out.

I think all the stuff the police have done to try and stop street racing has done more harm than the street racing itself. This is a good example of that.

I know right, the more the cops try to do shit the more people wanna do it. If you look at the music industry, all those artists that people bitch about get more and more sales. I agree that street racing should be stopped, but if there were more tracks there would be less racing. I never knew there was something wrong with going to a parking lot. A bunch of people with similar interests al in one parking, but I guess 300 people is a lot of people. Next time you should go in the store and come out just to piss em off.

But sorry to hear about the whole situation. You should definately get something out of this, if not for the peaceful assembly then at least for the racist actions, and holding you in a crappy facility

Sorry to hear bout that. As far as I know though, you can't be charged for trespass unless the business files suit. However, the city can not charge you with trespassing private property. You can't be trespassing public property, unless there's a notice specifying otherwise. If that's the case, you can sue the businesses as well.

Yeah, i heard Texas cops are real racist. I had a filipino teacher who got pulled over there and hassled because he looked like an immigrant.

Drivin from work today I saw about 8 cops. Always looking for a reason to give tickets.

most of the guys in jail with me didnt know much about cars in general, and like 70 percent of them were honda guys. there was also like 20 bike guys, and everyone was askin them y they didnt run, since they have bikes and all... one of them did run and didnt get caught, but all the rest of them stayed cuz they had a helicopter lookin out for us.

the tow-trucks took most of the cars there, expect a few that were parked at the K-mart parking lot. everyone was complaining about the wreckers because they were fuckin the cars up, since not many of them were flat-beds, u could just hear cars draggin against the pavement everytime they left the parkin lot.

I didn't read any of the replies but why say you hate cops etc..Cops are only doing there job, I've been arrested a couple of times and i have spent weekends in Rikers Island and central booking. and the shit sux, but its wasn't hot it was soooooo cold. I don't have anything against cops, if they pull me over they musta had a reason, if they arrest me then i prolly did something. And don't be sarcastic about "loving cops" would have risked your life while the world trade center was falling.

You should go back and read what he and everyone else posted. The police in houston really harrassed him, and deserve to be punished for falsly arressting everyone. Racial profiling is a serious poice issue, and needs to be dealt with. His sarcasim for saying how he loves police is without a doubt deserving, because I would be equally if not more pissed about being treated like complete shit.

im sure that if this shit happened to u, u would think way different... im sure theres nice/good cops outhere, i once met one that told me "man, if ppl smoked bud at home, everyone would be chillin." there was a couple of nice cops there when we were gettin arrested, but very very few of them. it was also a cop that gave the order to arrests us all, inocent or guilty, he didnt give a fuck. there ARE cops outhere that would give theyr life for ppl, and i give my best regards to those, but fuck... were the hell were they that night?
