Well I got my engine back and it looks great but the only thing is that it dosen't turn on it has spark, fuel, and it's timed and it should have compression since the motor has just been rebuild........ Now I took off all of the EGR stuff could that be the thing that is causing the problem??????? The car cranks and it sound like it want's to turn over but it dosen't......... Or is there something else that I should look into..... By the way the motor is a KA... LMK Thanx.

Countless cars have taken off the EGR and are still running, that said perhaps you took something along with it that you shouldn't have. I can't help much more than that sorry. I've got two SR's both with no EGR fitted, could be a different system for the KA i guess.

SRs never came with EGR, at least not RWD models, so that's a moot point. Removing the EGR does nothing at all for starting, sounds like you don't have enough compression if anything else is good.

Mine did that when I didn't tighten down the grounds.
