I recently bought a 1993 S13 Coupe. I paid way too much for it, but they're rare around here.
The car only has 72,000 miles on it, but it does seem to have a couple issues.
There is a rattle on startup and between shifts that I am 99% sure is just a loose heat shield underneath the car. It doesn't concern me too much.
There is also a heavy (thick) smell of burnt rubber whenever I really get on the gas. It smells like I just did a massive burnout when I didn't. This only happens under hard acceleration. Otherwise, power is consistant and there aren't any funny noises. The engine seems perfect otherwise. Anyone experienced this before?
Also, when the car is moving there is a somewhat loud, deep, humming that comes from the rear of the car. It gets louder with higher speeds. The car doesn't shake or anything. The alignment seems close to perfect and the wheels are all on tightly. I can't figure out what else it could be.
Can anyone shed some light here?
