2" drop springs...Anyone got a pic of a car with them?

Im running 225/40/18 tires and plan on getting 2 " drop springs... Im not going to do the coilover thing on this car as its not my play toy this one is just a driver for me..

I did a search and coulnt find a pic of a car with 2" drop springs..

Got one?

which springs? eibach sportlines give the most drop...i have those with tokico blues. the sig pic is with 18's...i just put on stock SE's and its really low...but nowhere near as good as coilovers

First picture in the Picture Thread is my car on the old KG/MM springs and Tokico Blues with stock SE wheels. Drop was approx. 2". If not for the fact I got them for almost nothing, I wouldn't have wasted my time with springs. Coilovers are where its at. KTS and Stance are both priced well enough to just save a little more money and not buy springs.

here's a post with before and after pics of my car when I had eibach pro-kit and kyb agx. as noted in the post, it was about 1-1.5" in the front and 1.5-2" in the rear, so imagine it half an inch lower.

sweet another off roading thread... oh sorry. eibach sportlines are going to be the lowest spring but their performance gain is slim to nothing. s techs are pretty decent for the price yet the drop isnt low. if you do go with the sportlines dont put them on stock/ gr2 struts cause they will blow within a year just sharing with you my personal experience. Coilovers are def worth saving up for.

bad idea...your just going to bounce around on the bumpstops till your struts blow...if you want a properly lowered S13 get coilovers

Well even if this is just a DD for you, you are planning to go pretty low, and sportlines offer that, but for the price of that plus shocks that can handle it, you'll still be under the price of coils, but in a year or so of DD, one or more of the shocks will definately blow, and you'll have to replace it, and sooner or later, it'll be obvious that coils would have been the best way to go... Just my $.02 as well as personal experience...

i rode around on sportlines with stock shocks for about two years without blowing a shock. as far as i'm concerned, that's a 240sx myth. i am switching to AGX's now, but only to stiffen it up.

um.. no. It decreases the lifetime of a shock absorber. Say if an absorber lasts 100k under normal driving with stock springs, lowered springs will make the life of that absorber 90k, or 80k, or 50k. I don't want to explain why but it has to do with the shock oscilatting more than it should.

fair enough, maybe i'm a rare case, but.. these are the shocks that came with the car, which had 185k on it when i bought it. they're certainly not the original shocks, although they are factory. anyway, to break it down, i drove the car to about 190k, put on sportlines, and then drove it to where it is now, 223k, without any issues. it may shorten the life of your shocks, but as far as i'm concerned, you won't blow them in a year.

...that said, the ride wasn't that great, i'd highly recommend getting shocks and springs at the same time.

Just save up a little cash and get some coils man. Get some megans or something since it doesn't matter and you just want the drop, it'll also insure you that you'll get your 2in drop. stock shock with springs combo just isn't the type of ride i'd want though.

Actually...stock shocks dont last very long with aftermarket lowering springs because the shocks are now operating outside of their optimum range. Rather than cycle through the top of the stroke they are now sitting half way down to start with and therefore, cycling through the last portion of the stroke which is putting added pressure on the seals. Furthermore, shocks with lowering springs are more prone to bottoming out which puts even more stress on the seals.

Don't waste your time. My S14's running a spring/strut combo and I regret it dearly. If you look at the price of a quality spring/strut combo compaired to even a set of Megan Racing coilovers, your way better off to go with the coils. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Um, sounds logical though I'm no certified expert here... anyway, I went with christmas combo before (budget, agx with tein s tech) and when I switched from those to stance gr+ pro coilovers i expected a decrease in ride quality. WRONG! At some points yes it was more bouncey but the dampening was so much more superrior than the christmas combo. Definitely go with coilovers and if you are super worried about ride quality get godo coilovers with good dampening, soft springs and helper springs for ultimate comfort!

i have megan racing springs, which drop lower than sportlines. the drop is 2.0" all around. and i love them. i would take a pic for you but i dont have a camera. i have them mated with KYB AGX shocks
