ok so normally I dont ask for a lot of opinions on here but im trying to figure out how I should spend my money...so heres my situation, just got another 240 after totalling my previous one with no insurance, so I just bought this one, its a 95 with 96k on it, I bought it from an older woman who is the original owner. Everything on it looks great except the paint is faded. Im a student and since I had no insurance on my last car and its destroyed I borrowed some cash from my parents to get this one. My plan is to pay them back and after that I will have about 4 or 5k at the end of the summer. I plan to install all the salvagable parts from my last car.... now I was thinking of going KA-T but also my paint is faded, I want to paint it black (its maroon right now) and i got a good estimate of 2k for a paintjob, also I want to do a kouki conversion but im thinking that plus paint will run me at least 3k, I also considered keeping the zenki front and getting glass headlights and the trust front bumper and navan sideskirts....I am also hooking my car up or doing minor upgrades and start saving to get a bike next summer cause a shit load of my friends just got bikes this summer.
TO SUM UP....SHOULD I: a. go KA-T
b. stay zenki +glass headlights and paint it
c. go kouki ( JDM all around) and paint
d. minor ugrades and save for a bike

it really depends on you....if this was my only car and that was it i'd go with the 1st 2 options....now if you really feel you're going to buy a bike i would just save for the bike and get a pretty good one...i dont how tall you are or how comfortable you are riding bikes and how fast you want to go...iirc brand new 650-700 bikes are around 7-9 k and anything in the 1000 range are around 11k. so if you want something like that save....now if it were me...me being the key word. i would decide if the car is going to mainly be a street car and thats it or if it will see a good amount of track time. now if it were going to be a mainly dd i would go with the zenki upgrade and paint. i rather like the way a nicely put together zenki looks....like duffman's zenki. now if it were going to see a good amount of track and events and such then i would consider a kat or save and buy a different motor for example an sr with slight mods. so it depends on what you want to do....for my personal car i decided went with what would be your 2nd option. but that was me. either way i hope you're happy with what you choose.

yeah sorry i need to elaborate more...this car will be my dd, I dont plan to track it and if i went KA-T id use a t28/ebay set up nothin fancy
as for a bike, it would be my first so id probably look into either a 2001 gsx-r 600 or a cbr 600 either rr or f4i or maybe an r6, anyway im not looking at anywhere near the 7-9k range more like 4-6k i dont care about high milage or if its brand new etc

i can tell you this much, ka-t will run you more than you think (just like getting sr/rb or any other swap)
imo, i'd just save up until you really have the cash, pay back your parents, etc etc...
as far as paint job goes, since it's beat already, you can just practice with diy paint to get by if it bothers you... (like how some people actually did the rustoleum roller method, or paint gun... very cheap)
in the end, you do what you will with your money, but hobbies like these are just big money pits... sometimes i wonder why the hell am i still doing it, lol

i say look real hard to whether or not you'll be able to set apart money through out the year to save. and now that it is known its a dd, i say the ka-t is unnecessarry...buy it, pay back parents so thats not on your head. get zenki glass and skirts and possibly lip, paint it, and then continue to save about 400 bucks a month till next summer and buy your bike. but thats if you can see yourself being able to do that.

yeah well i already have th z32 maf, also have a walbro, the oil lines and all my samco hoses..i should be getting a set of sr injectors
I also have exhaust, skyline brakes, tanabe sustec pro seven coilovers, plus a lot of other stuff Im sure im forgeting
I should also say that i will have additional money from continuing to part out my last car...but im not counting that cause its not certain how much i will get from that
also this just goes for this summer, theres always next summer
Im a really good saver, I really dont buy myself a lot of shit....unless its something I realy want

Paint it yourself, there are some write ups around if youv'e never painted. Alost cheaper then paying 2-3k for a paintjob.

Well the best advice I can give you is to simply save. Keep saving and over time you will realize whats most important to you. It feels good to have money in the bank and if you save up say 4-5k you wouldnt be so quick to spend it on a car. 1st thing nomatter what you do however, is to pay your parents back. Im not a bike guy so for me that wouldnt even be an option.
Also DO NOT PAINT IT YOURSELF! Ive painted 2 s13's with my dad and he use to paint cars for a living. If you dont know what your doing it will look like crap, with runs all in it. Not only do you need space to paint a car, but you also need the right air gun, paint, and sand paper.

coming from a 350whp sr in my last 240...no traction so i dont want anywhere near that much again cause i want a nicer more relaxed ride but some power when i feel like it....i just want 250-270whp tho

I recommend you to save for the paint and go kouki and add some jdm shits on it, make sure the car runs good everywhere and buy a bike after that... don't spend any $$ on a turbo kit... the bike will do the job trust me.

I would go "C". I was planning on going full Kouki (hood, headlights, front-bumper, side-skirts, rear-bumper and tail-lights) before I bought my '93 240sx. I think that this would look beautiful. Good-luck!
