Besides the HKS and some others that has replacement filter, do you have to change them? Doesn't cone filters ever get black or stuck?

I don't think you have to throw them away. I always use a recharger/cleaner kit. K&N has one. I'm sure you can use it on other Brand filters as well.

So it does get clogged up? And they have some cleaning kit for air filters? How much does that cost?

The K&N clean/recharge kit is about $10. You first spray on the cleaner and then wash the filter. Allow it to dry and re-oil it. They should last the life of your car or longer if maintained properly, or so they claim.

btw, do you need a recharge kit, Steve? i still have the one for that old filter i gave you. i can bring it to chicago next week.

Don't you need it for your filter? If you want to give it to me I'll gladly take it, but I bought a kit back in april so I don't *need* it. If nothing else I'll give it to Hank, the 510's intake is black.

umm...i THINK mine is a dry filter. i don't like it anyway. i was just going to get something new when it gets dirty. but i'll doublecheck before bringing it up there.
