Hey, how big a job is it to change spark plugs?  How do you go about it?

definately not a big deal at all... you rip the old ones out, and put the new ones in.

Takes me about 4 min.

Just get your plugs and the correct size socket tool for your plugs and screw them out of the engine and them put the new ones in. Dont tighten the plugs with any more then 20-30lbs of torque as the block is alluminum and will strip the thread of the block if its tightened to hard.

Hey, this might be a dense question but I'm not an engine guy,  How the #### do you change them and where exactly are they?  If I do not do it , nissan will charge about $40-50, so I would like to save some mula. Thanks.

so you have a ka24e or ka24de because the location is different.  For the de the plugs wires are on top of the engine, just pull the wires off and unscrew the plugs with the correct socket.  If you have the old sohc (89-90) the plugs are between the exhaust outlets on the side of the engine.  The procedure is the same, just different location.

Yes, on the sparkplug &quot;threads&quot;. &nbsp;Just wanted to clarify this just incase you put apply it on the electrodes. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

It will make removal a whole lot easier. &nbsp;Just hand tighten the plugs, then give them 1/2-2/3's turn to seat the taper. &nbsp;Stripped aluminum isn't fun!

Well, I went with nissan doing them for free during a tune up. &nbsp;The originals that came from nissan were NGK R. &nbsp;And nobody there ever knows what the best one for our car is they just say &quot;well whatever nissan puts in is the best&quot;. &nbsp; &nbsp;So &nbsp;11 pm and all's well so far with the plugs, actually I do not even notice any difference. &nbsp;
