Want A/C in your car? Brackets for S14 owners with S13 Redtops or S15 SR!

Finally, after finding a local guy, I'm now able to sell my custom A/C Brackets that allow S14 owners with S13 redtop or S15 engine swaps to retain the factory S14 Air Conditioning Compressor and lines!

I've had the setup on my car for a while now, but made it by hand...It worked, but they took a while to make. Now I found a CnC shop that agreed to make them for me!

So anyhow, here are the pictures...the final production ones will feature nice rounded corners to look all fancy, but this initial piece was for mockup and test fit.

The upper holes are countersunk in order for the bottom bracket to not hit the condenser itself. The kit will also include 4 new bolts +washers to attach the brackets to the factory brace, and will allow the use of the factory bolts to attach it as well...

Worried about strength? The pieces are made out of steel, and are 1/2 thick. I did 6 track events this season and didn't break mine or even stress it out...and I made my initial ones with a drill and tap.

I went on the Carquest remote parts program, and they list a different KA compressor between the 91-93 and the 94 cars. So I've got both coming in on order to ensure they are the same or different. I've also get 89-90 SOHC comrpessor coming as well....all for mock up for s13 redtop-s13 ka brackets :D

I've got another member who will be testing this for me in the next day or so. He's the one that helped me determine it worked for S15 cars as well.

No :( I do have a guy testing fitment this weekend though to see if my redtop ones work with S14 brackets....however I do know S13 blacktop brackets are way different.

The only thing I'm unsure of is the SOHC lines bolting up the DOHC compressor. If they have the same ends, then it should work for you :D

It DOES line up just fine.. I didnt have any problems with it. Loosened the belt tensioner, then the the pulley, then I took off the sr's compressor. Put the dohc compressor right on, slipped the belt on, and tightened up the belt. thats all. Ill get some pics for ya, might be a little while though..

And I didnt totally luck out.. I got a hicas pwr steering pump :-/

i've installed this ac bracket about 3 months ago, watch out for the fat ac line thats next to the turbo, mine started to rub against it and busted. so i ended up having to extend it so it wasn't so close to it

Yes they can, but it would take a while. It was a tradeoff for strength of bracket, as aluminum would have cracked. I suggested painting these to those who buy them. I didn't paint them, as everyone else has their own color preference, and I'm not a paint shop lol.

It's a close fit, but on the zenki i did it on, I just took off the mount mountign tab for the line behidn the motor, and it fit with ease. Good to take note about tho!

I appreicate the comment, but information isn't correct. The closest 'bolting up' option is from a S14 KA to a S13 redtop (actually all bolts are the same). Downfall is the wheels/pulleys do not line up at all, AND people have had clearence issues. We've gone over this in this thread, as well as in the official SR thread on FA.

I'd be willing to bet you have a redtop bracket. Take pictures, and I can help you out in deciding what you have.

S14 blacktop = S13 Blacktop. The brackets themselves all interchange between engines, however where the compressor bolts up is VERY different.

S13 Redtop and S14 KA utilize the same bolt spacing end to end, as well as up and down. It's not square, but a perfect retangle.

S13 DOHC KA compressors bottom two line up holes are on the same plane, but are very wide. The top 2 S13 DOHC KA are also oddly spaced L to R, and are not on same plane

S14 Blacktop/S13 Blacktop, both top 2 and bottom 2, are not on same plane. Their distance L To R are also not common on any other setup.

Impossible. It has to be a redtop bracket there. I've purhcsed and resold every OE SR ac bracket so far (except Willow's yet) and know their differences.

again, take a picture, and if I'm able to sneak on somehow, i'll be able to verify what bracket it is.

Unsure. In both parts lookup programs, they don't list anythign different for HICAS (or in the Carquest/FAST programs)

That looks the same as the blacktop. That's an JDM S14 compressor on there though.

No. S14 compressors bolt directly to the s13 redtop bracket, but pulleys do not line up.

Interesting to note, as the s13 redtop bracket is an even distance between all bolts, whereas the s13 KA compressor isn't...not sure how you got the front 2 to line up, unless you're speaking of the blacktop bracket....which I don't have in front of me now to look at.

The s15 would use the same kit as the s14ka to s13 redtop bracket. I'll email the member on another forum about the exact fitment and pictures.

i dont understand why we cant use "S14 KA comp on S13SR" bracket with S14Sr's

i have an S13 block and S14 ac bracket it botls up to it(s13 block). therefore it will work jsut teh same on an S14 SR block.
if a=b and b=c then a=c no?

what am i missing???

You are missing the diference between the S13 redtop and blacktop/s14SR brackets being different. If you use a S14 KA compressor on a S14 SR WITH a S13 SR REDTOP bracket it still wont work because the pulley will be off. You then would need a Pathfinder compressor pulley swaped out.

Basically, he is making it easier and complete. just a simple steel bracket to make everything fit like it should. It just has to be different for S13 redtops/S13 blacktop's and S14 SR's.

I don't have any direct access to an RB 25 bracket, and don't know how far forward they sit in the engine bay to make a kit for you. I'm afraid that the engines 'placement' is so far foward, that the stock lines will not fit.
