Just the fact alone that they are Sportmaxes makes me want to say NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! In all reality though, your best bet is the already existing Wheel Fitment threads here on Zilvia.net. Look through them and find a set of wheels with similar specs on an S14, or find a set that you like the way they look, and then calculate what size spacers you would need to make those wheels sit where you want them.

Good luck.

they will fit but you will probably need some spacers for the 38

Learn about OFFSET.. It is a little confusing at first, but not that hard to grasp.

The rims you chose have high offsets(especially the front for being such a narrow rim). With a HIGH offest, the wheels will look "sunken in" and not nearly flush with the fenders.

For daily, non crazy, non fender pulling fitment(that zilvians think is ideal) look for a 9 inch with plus 15 or 9.5 plus 22 rims... Thats at least a great start. With a 9.5 plus 22 you may or may not have to roll the fender lips, but thats no big deal to do. hope that helps some

So these rims should be close to the fender and might require fender rolling if I understand correct.

I am trying to learn about offset, I have read a lot of threads just dont quite get it yet

They are gonna look like trash for two reasons. Offset sucks, and they are sportmaxes. A two inch stagger isnt exactly the best idea either. A set of Z32 TT wheels has about the same sizing, and I took mine off my car the day the coils went on. And if I had to choose between the two, I would take the Z's in a heartbeat.

Look through the wheel whore thread and the wheel fitment thread, theres enough info there to give you an idea of what to run, even some decently sized sportmaxes, but what your lookin at now, thats not it.

I don't care for Sportmax because they make Knock-Offs. I haven't heard too much about their quality, but I'd like to see them have some originality rather then just copying someone else's design. But that's just me.

If you like them get them.
Sportmax are common, but so what? They have good quality and definantly good price. They look good for the price and really it doesn't matter who else likes them but the person that uses them. +38 isn't the most favorable offset for 240's, they will not sit flush. They also are known for not being the lightest wheels but again, for the price, who cares? You may also run in to some clearance issues. Throw some spacers on though and you should be alright.

Also, with your offset confusion, just think low with a 240. The lower the better and more flush it will sit on your car. Of course, something crazy low like -50 wouldn't be suggested, generally the closer you can get to +0 is better.
Hope that helped.

get 35mm spacers and they will sit flush!

This may help...

Offset is how far from center the rim is. If the rim is plus 40, that means you take the center of the rim, and move the mounting point 40mm OUT from center. When you move the mounting point OUT, it makes the entire rim sit more SUNKEN IN.... IE: NOT FLUSH WITH THE FENDER.

Read my above post and look for offsets close to that.

With a 9 inch rim and NOT WANTING TO MODIFY fenders, don't go under +15. Or on a 9.5, don't go uner 22 or around there.

Get it..... Example

A 9 inch rim with a plus 40 offset=rim will be "sunken in" and you can stick a shoe between the fender and outside of rim.

A 9 inch rim with a 15 offset= depending on tire, 1/2 inch or so of clearance between fender and rim.... Nice looking, no heavy mods required

A 9 inch rim with a 0 offset=rim will stick out a little PAST fender, requiring at least a fender roll, but most likely a fender PULL(ie: fender mod)

Make a lil more sence?

on the rear with a +38 offset you might be hitting the coilover if you have coilovers. Definately will need spacers for the rear. Front should fit ok.

Hey Ryan, haven't talked to you in a while.

Anyhow, regarding the wheels, I myself am not expert, but I would like to tell you that if you're going for wheels that are strong and help provide the best contact patch, I wouldn't go for anything much wider or larger in diameter than the stock S14 wheels. In my personal experience with my S13, I have found that the best so far for me have been wheels that were the same size as the stock S14 wheels. I am currently using stock S14 wheels on my S13 with tires sized 205/55/16. I have enough sidewall on the tires to maintain optimum tire contact patch in all circumstances on the track, while also providing good room for vertical wheel travel when hitting bumps. I think it would also be appropriate to say that I have my car as low as it can go using MR coilovers, so the current wheel setup more than helps me keep attack corners like my car is on rails. I've never had a more stable car. All in all, I'm quite happy.

Now I know a lot guys like to go with larger wheels and radical offsets, but the way I see it, the less variables introduced with how the car reacts to cornering and maintaining stability, the better it is for me. I guess it's one of those YMMV things.

Here is how my car sits with the setup I mentioned:

If your wheel choice has nothing to do with performance, then I guess you could disregard my post.

Anyhow, little sidebar: since I spoke to you last, I went ahead and took the AFOQT, and made it. But, in the "11th hour", I was cut and was told the Air Force just wasn't looking to commission many people. So I went the Army-way and earned my commission in the Army last November. Give me a call sometime if you still have my cell phone number man. Take it easy.

Please spare your car and not buy those. They are just as bad as sportmaxes. Stop faking the funk and save up a little more money to get decent rims. Hell if you have money for those Rotas go look into the group buy for MB wheels. Better offset, better wheels.

And please read up on the forums more. There is a lot of knowledge typed beneath these databases. Searched, learn, and contribute to the forums.

REMEMBER DONT BUY SPORTMAX! There are better wheels for the same price!

seeing that you chose to ask about Rotas and Sportmaxes... I'm guessing that price is an issue, which I don't blame you, cuz I as well don't shit out dollars out my ass (would be cool tho), LOL.

Anyways, you should look up the new line of wheels that Work has... they're really decent in price considering the offsets and sizes they offer and R&D they do...

I knew this forum had people who like to put down anything that's not about what's "cool".

Instead of starting with such demeaning statements, why don't you sit back, and think of what wheels really are for? I've gone through many different wheel setups, and for MY personal liking, the stock wheel setup has worked best. Everyone has their preferences. Why shoot mine down if it works for me? And why shoot mine down if I'm trying to offer someone I know an alternative to whatever else is out there?

I thought I'd be coming around here to participate and be of resource like many others here, but attitudes like these show me how welcoming this community is. Have a nice day.

If you posted something that included KNOWLEDGE you wouldn't get flamed. You say that your stock s14 sizes keep your car on a "RAIL" and to disregard the post if he's not concerned with performance!!!

Nice of you to offer help, but the help you offered is total bullshit. Nothing about stock sizes is best for performance... If you want optimum handling, why not use a WIDER tire, with a LOWER PROFILE? Like a 245/40 or 255/35 etc.??? Stock tire sizes are PERFECT......

Which is way fucking wrong. No opinion.
