posting this for a friend , he just blew his KA-t setup twice because he keeps blowing out piston rings...so he needs a new block, i found him a SOHC block but he has DE

can he use the SOHC block with the DE head? i dont think so because the timing chain cover is different am i right?

but he CAN use the pistons out of the SOHC right? and it will also be lower compression (8:5:1 IIRC) so should he just go ahead and do this? because the block has new rings and his only 50$ so its a steal

using sohc pistons in a dohc block will raise the compression, to about 11:1. and yes you can use the sohc block on a dohc head. not worth the work tho. much cheaper just to pic up another dohc block. good luck

No, KADE and KAE heads/blocks dont mate up. Aside from pistons and some other ish, they dont correspond. Its not like honda B-series.
