guess it depends on where you live, but after 10-12k lighting becomes poor.

Yellow hid arent ment for headlights that was his own stupid doing. Yellow are used as secondary light or foglights

4300k. Keep it at that as anything away from that is bad for your eyes.
Search this on the bay: "2 PHILIPS D2S 85122 HID bulbs OEM XENON BrandNew 4300K"

4300K is the best light output, 6000K is the max id go with

iirc any hid retro is technically illegal
id probably get 6 or 8, 6 looks like it mightve came that way from the factory, 8+ is pretty much dead giveaway that its cheesey aftermarket.

I recall somewhere hearing that anything blue or red (almost anything other than normal halogen) is illegal, reserved for cops and emergency vehicles only.

Makes sense. I use 6000k and its a bit blueish, but if I were to do it all over again I would go 4300.

tri projectors with 8K. They suck at lighting thought, get 5K or around there. Or retrofit for the best performance prolly. http://photos.pe.facebook.com/v55/80/99/503587369/n503587369_9843_4211.jpg And there also crazy bright for the oncoming cars since the tri projecters were made for driving on the left side of the road and not the right.

4300 looks stupid imo. 6k looks closest to other stock hids when put in a halogen projector. 8k is obviously not stock.
30k is green

i dont understand you. how can 6000k be close to stock hid when stock hid are 4300k?
4300K has the highest lumens for lighting. The highest i'd go personally is 5000k.
here's 4300K: proof that you can't prove color temp with digital pictures, camera settings changes picture results.

i got the 4300k kit from the advertiser special buy. i personally dont like funny colored lights. im going for best visibility rather than coolest looking lights. i wanted green at first, but then i decided that the less attention i get, the better.
if you just got a new hid kit or oem bulbs, then your bulbs will be kinda yellow. a color shift will happen after 1000hrs (or was it 100?), the bulb will show its true color after that.
that's why you see tons of new cars with yellow-ish hid.

those aren't my pictures or hid. those pictures above aren't that bright, it's just the camera shutter exposer.

im saying, when you put 6k hids into halogen projectors, it looks closer to stock hids (in hid projectors, like in a merc or whatever) than 4300 does. 6k looks like white and 4300 is a bit yellowish. soo if you are doing a china dropin on kouki headlights or s13 projectors, i would get 6k. thats what i meant

yea 6k ftw. we all know that the bulbs in the 180dollar kits we all have arent as good as what come in a lexus these days. so thats why stock hids will always looks superior to our ricer shit.

6k is garbage, only good for looks or matching up a new bulb to an old ready to die bulb.
6k only looks "like hid" on reflector headlamps, regardless if they are originally hid or halogen. the blue is more visible from projectors, but thats besides the point.
anyone who fixes up their headlamps so they can be "more blue" is simply lame. theres no point in having blue light, its the biggest waste of shit since sliced shit.
