i have z32 front brakes with some cheap pads and p-zero tires. even in raining condition i press the brake real hard but it is so hard to lock them up....... they just keep stopping in time and not locking up. is it because the brake calipers are not good enough? this is a non-abs s14.

do you have a z mbc or abs mbc?

is there brake pressure? leaking air? leaking fluid? leaking brain mass?

check all lines and fittings, check the MC, check the caliper

were the pads/rotors propperly bedded? are you braking with your left foot or right hand or your imagination?

if 3z calipers don't stop your car, there's something wrong
hell, if stock calipers don't stop your car, there's something wrong, it's not like the s14 is heavy

No Jason you are misunderstanding...

There might be air in your brake fluid system causing the brakes not to lock up...
If you have Z brakes, you should have no problem locking your tires up and skidding all over the place... Even with cheap pads...

yep, because i've been able to lock up with stockers...
prolly air in the system, rebleed, and test it out again

ok i'll do that... thanks for the advise guys........

thats why im wondering are my tires really that good which never skids even with this huge brakes or is the brake bad

i have the z32 MC as well on it.

hmm , i dont know what fluids the previous owner used and I know i shouldn't mix different brand of brake fluids so i have to to drain out the whole system and re-bleed with new stuff?

thanks guys

don't drain out the whole system. bleed normally and have a third person top off the MC as you bleed. instead of stopping when you stop seeing bubbles, continue bleeding each corner until you no longer see bubbles AND you see fresh brake fluid coming out.
