Okay, I finally got tired of forgeting to turn my fans off after a drive and draining my battery.

I'm in the process of re-wiring them to come on automatically. I'm looking at rewiring them into the AC condensor fan plug and relay. IIRC that should turn the fan on once the engine reaches operating temp. My question is this; the AC in my car is removed (compressor, lines and condensor only; wiring is still in place) so will this still work to turn the fans on? Or does this relay only come on when AC is switched on? I tried to figure it out using the wiring diagrams in the FSM, but couldn't really find an answer either way. Thanks guys.

P.S. It's a 91 S13 with SR

The AC fan only comes on at 212 degrees, or when the AC is on. My fans hooked up to low speed ignition on, and highspeed is run threw the condensor fan wiring. This way my fans always on, and only goes to high if the car gets really hot.

I'm fairly sure the S13's only have one speed for the condensor fan. So what you're saying is when my temps hit 212... the fans should kick in?

You should really look into a temp switch module to control the fan, this would serve you best, or quick and easy and run the fan off of a basic ignition relay.

You need a fan controller: http://www.frsport.com/DIF_Dual_Electric_Fan_Controller_p_1373.html

Or you can get a Saga water temperature sensor with built-in fan controller.

Then you need a temperature sensor. You can tap the stock temperature sensor or get an aftermarket one and mount it in the upper radiator hose.

Hmmm.. I don't have the money for a fan controller at the moment. Thanks for the link though g6civcx, that answered some questions I had, and will be useful in the future I'm sure. I guess I'll just wire them to come on with ignition. Taking a little longer to get up to operating temp beats killing my bat twice a month. lol.

Thanks guys.
